The 1st time I saw the concept sketches of Megatron, I can't say that I was very pleased. Honestly I thought it looked like something from a cheesy monster movie. But recently I came upon this pretty cool "Message from Megatron Himself" done by Frank Welker at http://www.allspark.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=1&Itemid=3 And listening to this while looking at the new megatron design, I actually like it.
I actually think welker's voice fits this Megatron. His face really makes it seem like his voice should sound like, as a friend of mine put it, "100 chainsaws trying to have conversation."
See, this is what I mean I claim that this Megatron design fits the original voice a lot better than the original design. Imagine all the mandible peices moving and Movie!Megatron "acting" like a death machine on a set of McBeth and you'll find it feels quite good. =)
Well, even though I agree that Welker's voice does somewhat fit with the design, I'm sitll not crazy about it because it now reminds me of the cadavers in anatomy lab. But I'll have a wait and see approach. Perhaps, the CG model in action will change my mind.
I was thinking the other day there is precident for "vampire Megatron". In Beast Machines Megatron thought he would become all powerful by merging with all the sparks. Still think it's dumb though.
Hmmm, Well, welker doesnt sound all that bad for the role, as long as it isnt like the squeaker he had in G1 and a little more older. I think it should make for the perfect role of megs.
