Well, to be fair, it's $50 whether you get 1 or 3, so if you go in with some friends it's $16.67 per figure. Not as bad, though I admit, I feel for you. It does suck.

I'll wait for Kapow's preorder to go up. The whole shipping cost issue, declaring the wrong value on my box, the subsequent customs charges resulting from their error AND the zero communication regarding the matter has in the politest terms, fucked me right off.

 

Just got my order in. Wanted this one after missing out on the bundle.

 

It cost that much because of tracking and/or insurance.

 

Once again having to pass on this due to the postage costs, Absolute rip-off.

 

Ordered! And, thanks to a board member, I've now got a shot at a Steel Core. I missed the bundle last week (which is probably fine since I would have then had an extra Defender).

I'll wait for Kapow too. The whole group buy thing doesn't works very well. If you can't find other fans in your very same town, you end up paying for additional shipping rates, and here in Italy they can be very high, if don't want to risk your package is "lost" (=stolen). If you do the math, with Italian taxes (21% on item price + shipping) and additional shipping etc. every Assaulter would end up costing about $140.

So, while some of North-American fans were arguing about who should get their Assaulters first (bundle or individual orders), we international fans still have to know when Steelcore will be available with other retailers, and what will be its price. Not a big deal, but it's kind of annoying, I can assure you.

One possible situation would be if Fansprojectore would become an international franchise, mirroring the A3U/FPC thing. I don't know, Kapow could sign an agreement with FP and open a FPC Europe acting as a FP only store, and other retailers in Asia or Australia could do the same. I think the demand is there and many retailers would be happy to do that, I guess it all depends on what FP plans to do.

Or A3U employees could sail a boat to the UK and ship from there  

 

Wasn't arguing against that a bit. Was just trying to point out an option. Certainly not going to work for everybody, but it's a little less bleak.

People who don't live in North America get screwed coming and going for the most part with toys. I have absolutely no illusions to the contrary. If I lived anywhere else I don't know that I'd collect at all. I'd certainly collect less.

Hmmm, I'm waiting on word from Kapow toys myself.

The $50 shipping, and then customs & handling charges on top of that made getting steel core from FPC kinda expensive. Hoping Kapow can save me money.
