Funny you should say that.... Granted, that picture means they were shooting at ME, but... oh well. Anyway, I should have a few more pics before and after halloween with all three of us in full gear... yup, that's right, we're going to be building a 3rd proton pack... in a week. It'll take about 3 weeks for the parts to get here, then a mad dash to assemble and power the thing... oh, how I LOVE challenges.
poor Twin Twist... jump on e-Bay and do a search for Proton packs. Pre-built ones ain't cheap. Hell, making these things isn't cheap either >_< John (the tall one with the dreads) just picked up a proton pack kit (re-casted PVC parts of all the major sections) for about $450. in addition to that is the ALICE backpack frame with ran him about $20 and then there's the custome aluminum motherboard to attach everything to and that came out to about $60. Let's just round that out to about $500 on a very basic pack. Throw in the lights and we're talking about $20 for the lights and sequencers to make the pack lights work like in the film. There's even a sound kit out there just for proton packs that's top notch and that goes for about $400. SO, doing the math, if you build one, it'll run you about $500-$550 for a simple pack and about $1000 if you want to go completely overboard and include sound. Buy one on E-bay and it'll cost you anywhere from $600 - $1200 and those usually just come with your basic running lights. Go on Twin Twist... join us ^_^ I can even point ya in the right direction for costume peices! ^_^
