Okay so grimlocks level was a blast, but a shame we really coudn't play as anybody else, except swoop. So if they had them, what melee weapons would they have used, or what robot-mode abilities(they don't have rage transform) My guess is--slug uses an axe and his ability is like an uber punch attack (i know already kinda done) snarl might use like a halberd or a scythe on a chain, mabye his ability is throwing spike shaped throwing stars swoop may have used a pair of sai or katana, ability would have been a tornado strike or something sludge, definately a war hammer, ability, seismic shock or grenades Post your thoughts
Hmm...I might suspect Swoop to have a sort of boost/bomb ability. For Slug, a ram ability makes the most sense. Snarl, probably some sort of tail stab or something.
Swoop - going with Animated, give him a Morning Star/Flail, his special ability is 'Bolas' where he hurls it at a foe, where it will strike and wrap around them tighter and tighter until they are crushed into pieces. Slug - assuming his new name is based on his love of fighting, he gets a Gauntlet/Cestus weapon which sheathes his fist and delivers crushing blows - his special ability is 'Haymaker' where he delivers a mighty straight punch which can send an enemy flying, heavily damaging both them and any other enemies they hit mid flight. Snarl - again going with Animated (though that Snarl was more like Slug), he gets a glowing Club weapon, and his special ability is 'Tremor' where he smacks it into the ground, sending a rippling shockwave through the floor toward the enemy. Sludge - Fitting for his size, the big guy gets an enormous Hammer, with which he can cause a 'Cyberquake' by smashing it into the floor - unlike Snarls special, this is a radius attack rather than a projectile, which heavily damages and floors all enemies in the vicinity.
still think a halberd and an ability which enables him to throw exploding spikes (lets call it arrowhead) would be more his style and i really never liked swoop having a flail, how about a chained scythe or meteor hammer. everything else sweet ideas
I very much doubt Dinobots would wield far Eastern style weapons, as these typically are based upon speed and precision rather than Western melee weapons which were more developed for power, which the Dinobots possess in abundance - hence a Flail suits Swoop far better than martial arts chain weapons.
Yeeeah. Martial Arts Weapons/Ninja Abilities + Dinobots = no. And I *love* me some martial arts weaponry. Guan Dao ftw. I also don't get the theory behind Snarl having ranged/skill weapons while Slag has more raw power. Snarl's bigger and stronger, and with Slag being an Infiltrator in game terms, he'd have the more speed/skill based weapons. Sooo... Slag: Shortsword/Grenade Toss Snarl: Warhammer/Groundpound(slams fist into ground sending a shockwave spreading forward and outward) Sludge: Giganticfreakingclub/Whirlwind Swoop: Flail/Shockwave(same as Vortex) Snarl and Sludge's abilities could be switched around. I'm not sure about which way I prefer it. EDIT: Aaand I just remembered Swoop's role as a bombardier. So, you could switch his ability with Slag as well, though I still think shockwave would work for him.
Playing the beasts and bugs feels so different in their altmodes is totally worth using them. Grimlocks dino mode is great for using his tank cannon for instance. However... was anyone else really disappointed you couldn't breath fire, stomp and smash opponents in dino mode? Feels like so much wasted potential.
Well as long as you're in beast mode you might as well have some cool moves. I don't think people fight in their beast modes often anyway since the weaponry is usually pretty weak, except for Destroyers and Titans. There's no real difference between me stomping and smashing guys in beast mode and getting shot in the face from a distance than me ineffectually shooting them with my weak ass pea shooter in beast mode and getting shot in the face, except with the former I can put my beast mode to good use.
That. I've said many a time, the way Beast modes SHOULD be approached in future games is that they lack the sheer speed and ranged fighting potential of vehicles, but make up for this with increased agility and melee power - a Truck can take down a Rhino so long as it keeps its distance, but if the Rhino gets in close then the Truck will be smashed to pieces.
