Just found the first wave at my local tru. Theonly thing i wanted was a bilbo as hes the only character I have.any attachment to. So I got him!

So he looks pretty good! For about 15 + tax id say he was worth it. Pretty good joints, paint is almost the neca standard with the detail and the sculpt is decent. Sting seems a bit small to me in this aculpt in particular however sting is hard plastic! The accessories are neat with the jugs and backpack thing.

The weirdest part of his articulation is the hips. Theyre done like the good star wars 3 3/4 hips is the best way to describe them. Overall pretty good!

I saw the rest of the toys in the store and they didnt look all that good. Legolas was alright. Also the Sting roleplay sword was cool to look at but should be priced at 15 not 20.

    And thats all I got.

Pretty pricey, but he looks good. Are these 6"? The price makes a bit more sense if so. You're right about Sting though- it could be a little wider perhaps. I'll check these out, but they'll go on my list of "cool looking toys that I don't have the room or money to dedicate to".

Well i got this at tru so.if you see him at a target he might.be cheaper? Also.yea hes from the six inch line. The 3&3/4 ones looked like garbage so didnt bother. Eapecially gollum. He had no elbows or knees.

Also posted a more indeptg review over on toyark.

I'll pick them up on a TRU BOGO sale, which is pretty much guaranteed to happen in the near future.

Can't wait to find these! The Goblin King is so wickedly gross looking.

    Awesome! :D
I Think I'm Going to get the 3.75 Inch ones, Because I Want All the Characters to be Size Accurate

and their only making 5 Figures 6"inch so it would Look Strange to have Bilbo
    Taller than the Other Dwarves.

Be warned they didnt look all that great. articulation seemed to vary wildly and the sculpts looked kinda dodgy.

If you're talking about buying one of every character, then 3.75 would be the way to go. I think overall though the scale is great with the 6 inch figures as well as the paint and details. Legolas was the only one who looked weird to me, but the rest looked great!

I saw these in person today. The 6" ones don't look too bad. Thorin looked nice. The 3-3/4 ones on the other hand were $12 and Bilbo looked more like Samwise.

I saw the 3.75" figures a few days ago and they -look- good as far as sculpts & details go. Today, I saw the 6" figures for the first time, and was pretty disappointed in their appearance. I ended up buying a 3.75" Gandalf, which somehow has a better facial likeness than the 6" one. If articulation isn't your dealbreaker, I'd recommend the 3.75" line for display.

Saw these today and I thought the 3" line looked better for their size than the 6" ones did. Overall they all look far better than what I was expecting from the makers of Zhu Zhu Pets.

Didn't buy any yet, waiting for them to hit Target.

I'll start picking a few up after I have got the 2 or 3 MIB 3 figures that I want.

Broke down and got a Bilbo figure just to sample the line. I'm actually quite impressed with the level of detail in the sculpt, the accessories, the usefulness of the joints and the paint overall. The likeness to Freeman isn't quite there, but it's quite rare for any line by any company to capture an actor's likeness at this scale.

That said, it's a very detailed figure especially in terms of his outfit. He has a removable coat, a removable tie and a removable dickey (a shirt front). Along with a satchel, a rope of bottles, a scabbard for Sting and of course Sting.

Overall I like him enough to get Gandalf and the Dwarves. If they do a Beorn (and why wouldn't they?) I'll have to get him, too. And Bard. And Smaug of course. And then ten years from now I'll have them all in a box moldering away with my Lord of the Rings figures. :3

Anyone spot these at stores besides TRU yet? Only other place I've seen them is Barnes & Noble, where they're too expensive. I'm hoping eventually they do a multipack of all 13 Dwarves.

Also still really, really hoping that Hot Toys or at least Sideshow will do a few 1/6 scale figures.

Now that I've seen the movie I think it's pretty clear that the toys were pretty much done before the decision to split it into three movies - which would explain why there are Legolas and Tauriel figures when they aren't in the first movie.

Also now that I've seen it I want the toys even more. I was really hoping they'd hit retail stores like Target and WalMart so I could get them a bit cheaper and easier, but that doesn't seem likely to happen. Heck, there's only one TRU around here I've been to that carries the full figure line - most of them just have a single peg with a couple 3" figures and that's it. I've seen more at Barnes & Noble. :/
