Jenna-Louise Coleman is hot too though so it's not a total loss. Anyone else catch her topless scene the other night?
BBC To Actually Publish The Book That Plays Key Role In This Week’s Doctor Who | Bleeding Cool Comic Book, Movies and TV News and Rumors
Not sure what I think of this. I'm undecided about the ending for the Ponds. When Rory got zapped I was shouting 'WTF' on how stupid it was. The Angels were unscary it was disappointing. Can't wait for Jenna Louise to be the new sidekick.
Er my first thought was the Internet will be asking "Is that it?" Rory never did anything very much to show he was capable of being more than he seemed since he was an Auton so I feel ripped off for that reason. That is what you call going out with a whimper instead of a bang.
Brilliant send off for the Ponds. Definitely an emotional gutpunch. Only thing I didn't like about this episode was [spoilerthe Statue of Liberty.[/spoiler] That was so fucking stupid and pointless that words fail me.
I'm a bit indifferent to that episode. I didn't DISLIKE it (even though the angels get less and less interesting each time they appear) but it did leave a sense of "that's it?". Rory deserved a much better send off than that too. bcm77 was referring to the Ponds, not the angels.
I didn't like Spoiler the statue of liberty being a giant weeping angel . It was dumb, unnecessary and it didn't contribute anything to the story other than a "OMG I dunno whether to LOL or poop mah pants right now!" moment. I did like Spoiler The baby angels though, I thought the scurrying sound effects and the cackling were done well and added to the tension. On a note unrelated to this week's episode, the Zygons should come back damn it! We've had two mentions of them in dialogue (River says that they're with the Daleks, Cybermen, Sontarans, Weevils and other evil buggers in the Pandorica Opens, and they Spoiler spoiled Amy and Rory's anniversary bonking session off screen in The Power of Three ), but it's high time they made a full appearance.
It was like Thenames9 said, basically Spoiler an angel got Rory, but they couldn't go back and save him because they'd already played around with the timeline too much. So Amy voluntarily got angel'd too, and they both went back to the past where they lived together happily for the rest of their lives. Then in present-day the Doctor and River see their gravestone.
So they softened the blow by keeping it family friendly....predictable but it's got 2 of the characters that made me stop watching out the way. Only the 11th Doctor and River to go now
Family friendly and softened? Hardly! It was a hell of an unfair, emotional moment. The reaction of the Doctor was damn powerful, too. I both do and don't look forward to seeing what this does to him. And screw you, the 11th Doctor is awesome! Though River should definitely fade away already.
Or regennerate into a new actress(Yes I know she dies, but her body vanishes, so it could be a show for the 10th doctor so as to not mess with the time line, or he could get an android body and download her or something.) Still Big Finish has been handling companions deaths much better. The numbers there are growing too Spoiler HEX,Tamsin Drew, Lucie Miller, Crizz, Evelyn, though one of them seems to have an interesting way they might come back, did I forget any? But that's the fun part, with so may of the Doctors still making audios(every month) there are always new stories for every taste.
Damn, I'll be honest, I cried. So much for wrapping the story of Amy... Spoiler I now look back at when Little Amy gets out to her garden and you hear the TARDIS. Damn it Moffat, you had it all planned since the beginning lol Having said that, River will be going shortly. Spoiler Notice the face of the Doctor when she says that she's now Professor Song. The poor man (Time Lord) can't ever get enough heart breaking moments
Nobody in the modern show will ever get a departure as good as Adric in 1982's "Earthshock". It was so good that it singlehandedly saved the Davison era from being completely worthless. Maybe if the Ponds cause of death was "planet in face" and resulted in the extinction of the dinosaurs it would have been something to remember, but it sounds like it was straight from the standard Nu-Who playbook and I expect they'll magically be resurrected for the 50th Anniversary.
