Well, as I mentioned in the OP, everything is still up in the air so don't get your hopes up. Experimentation is like it is; I might even cancel this whole project outright tomorrow, who knows? You guys know me best, I don't release anything that I don't believe in.

My intention is yes, to have a new rotor system, new arms, and something for her head so as to form a satisfactory set, but I have nothing to show for it yet.

When the project is finally ready I will give the update, and it's gonna be BIG.
Thanks for asking about this project though. I appreciate it and I can see there's a big demand for it :)

Hey as long as I see some gorgeous new rotors to enable the 3rd mode, I'm good. The rest is all icing on the cake.

Instead of trying to make it work in both modes, just ignore the chopper mode. Do just the legs where they would work well and leave it at that. If someone wants the rotors, they could use the original ones.

As other said, now you just need to create new arms for that turd.

Alright, here's a little progress report. I had been trying to improve the arms of Airachnid, and also experimented with modifying her neck for better posability...

For the neck I made a replacement with a double joint so that she can tilt her head forward, but I'm sad to say the whole concept didn't work as the huge canopy behind her head is still as restrictive as ever. It serves you better to dremel off the chair backrest behind her head and modify the balljoint socket for a wider range of movement. I'm still deliberating if I should create a replacement lightpipe piece to serve that purpose.

Now for the forearms! These new ones are much, much better than what we get on the stock figure (which really doesn't say much, lol). The upper, lower arms are ball jointed, the wrist is double ball jointed and her hands can hold onto 5mm pegs. Also, I made it possible for the arm to flatten down into her chopper mode, but unfortunately there are still uncomfortable gaps that break the vehicle's silhouette. There is simply too much mass in these new arms to fit onto the sleek alt-mode.

Hence, for my next steps I will be doing a few things:

    - Reduce length of arms (they are too long now in comparison to torso)
    - Flatter arm panels for sleeker silhouette
    - Reduce size of hands

Also, I am still working on those rotor legs but I haven't sent out my test order yet. We'd see how it goes in a few weeks.

And on a totally separate tangent, Mythbusters have proven you can indeed polish a turd.

I thought it was impossible to make new arms for deluxes and you've proven me wrong also love the rotors honestly any design is good enough for me as long as it's accurate
Now I might actually get airachnid

Ariel, you're my hero man. Thank you for trying to make this figure into something decent.

And now to drop some constructive criticism, some of which you already said. Those arms just look too big. They also look quite masculine. It's probably the size of the upper arm and the width of the shoulder, but those arms harm her femininity.

It's also a bit hard to make stuff out in these pics. White arm on a white background.

Yeah, I'd say just try to make them smaller and it should help. I hope this project is successful.

Color me impressed! The spider rotors look good, especially the thicker ones, and while they may not be accurate to real world rotors, at least the ones you made actually look like rotors instead of the laughably bad excuse for what the toy has, which doesn't even TRY to hide them.

And the fact you made an arm that can even work for transformation at all is incredible. I wouldn't worry about the exposed gap too much, paint the arm black to match and it will look much better. Plus, the angled out look gives the chopper some actual definition and a more dynamic appearance in my opinion. Sure, it kind of breaks the silhouette of a "Stealth helicopter", but personally I think it's better to have made a decent robot mode at the cost of a slightly less stealthy (but also slightly more dynamic) looking helicopter than to have an absolutely shitty robot mode simply for a smoother helicopter mode that honestly looks a bit boring. Not to mention Airachnid only ever actually used the mode like, once.

I posted that video as a comment regarding the United EX Power Core figures. I was going to say you can't... then that youtube video came up when I typed the phrase in.

Gotta say... but you've successfully done so... >_> *cough* Figuratively though of course.

Quite frankly surprised no 3rd Party folks have tried contacting you to design some items like this yet... but unfortunately you've had a design or two stolen haven't ya... =/

Whoa! That arm is looking good! I was waiting for the update on it and I am blown away! Like you said though, downscale that arm a bit and it's basically perfect! You are my hero, Busker!

Everything you've got here is fantastic. Regarding the arms not looking feminine enough--I think that's really just in the hands. Don't know if you can shrink them down without having issues with the fingers breaking whenever you have her hold her weapons.

I will likely buy those arms once you have them finalized. Waiting to see how you finalize the rotors/legs, as I LOVE where you're going with them (tri-rotor works best for me from what I'm seeing)
