Patience is not one of traits What I REALLY want is the new Optimus they will be getting. That one will probably be a bit more difficult. I am willing to bet they only get 2, maybe 3 a shipment. I have searched every Meijer, Target, K-Mart and Walmart in the area looking for the new wave of TF prime figures. Still nothing except a couple Cyberverse stuff (Dreadwing, Battle tactics Bulkhead and Wheeljack). Anyone else having any luck?
Optimus may not be too bad. I am thinking that with his higher price point that most of those "dirty scalpers" won't be so ready to touch that one. It will more than likely ship two to a case so they will initially go quick but will eventually sit for more than a day. One thing that you also gotta remember is that there are a ton of Transformer collectors around buying this stuff up too. I personally know four others on the Southside alone that don't even post on here. The Prime toyline has been a different beast altogether. The problem with that line is a problem shared by many of the other action figure lines for the past few years......distribution. I'm not sure it is gonna change anytime soon either. One trick I have used in the past for finding the newest stuff early is to watch the national sightings threads. Be mindful of what store chains people are finding the new stuff at and at what point in the country the stuff is showing up in. Generally, new figures hit the West Coast first and then move on from there towards the East Coast. If a wave of figures shows up at Target in San Francisco, it is a good bet that a few days later they will also show up at Target here as long as there is room on the pegs for the new stuff. This can keep you from running around to all of the different stores every day as soon as a new wave has been spotted. Of course you can also just buy them by the case online. Being mindful and patient about what case you buy can keep you from intentionally buying doubles. I am doing this with the FOC/Generations line. I completely skipped wave 1 and am simply going to order a case of wave 2 which will contain all five of the wave 2 figures plus the three wave 1 figures. It is cheaper to buy them by the case online (15 freaking dollars for a freaking scou......err I mean deluxe figure!) and it saves me from driving around looking for any of them.
They only had four before today. I bought three. The fourth one never got the chance to get any shelf wear. This is not a new occurrence for this TRU.
What he's trying to say is a worker got it first. If the worker was the scalper, though, wouldn't he have just gotten all of them?
I'm not really sure if he is flipping toys, but he does buy an awful lot of primo stuff from many different lines. I think what he is doing is more along the lines of selective collecting. What I do know for a fact about this particular employee is that it must really suck trying to be a McFarlane Sportspicks collector on the southside. Those are very well picked over before they hit the shelves. But it does no good to worry about an employee buying toys right from his own store before they hit the shelf. It has gone on for many years at pretty much every retail store. When they leave, another will always take their place.
When I was applying for jobs, the places I went first were all of the places I frequent for my collectables, so I can't really fault a guy for doing it, but If I were in his position I would try and get in touch with the collector community and tell them about new shipments, which might drum up some business for the store, and intern might get me in good with the manager.
"What I do know for a fact about this particular employee is that it must really suck trying to be a McFarlane Sportspicks collector on the southside. Those are very well picked over before they hit the shelves." Apparently the guy isn't a Tony Gwynn fan...
Wow we have reached 500 pages of adults helping each other buy toys off the shelves before kids even know they exist. Let's try and get to 1000 before Micheal bay tries to ruin it again!!! And in sightings news, Glendale target has 3 kre-o starscreams for 8.98 each, I got the only large bumblebee for that price, and they have a few of the new kre-o set's, unfortunately not a single blind pack anywhere, which made me mad because I have the codes in my wallet to know what is in the pack(if any one wants them...). They also have some FOC shocwave's, and the other two, and some Prime Ratchet's, as well as a prime Starscream, with a Cyberverse Starhammer, and two Weaponizer Optimus's for those that actually want the $30 train wreck of an Optimus.
Just picked up Voyager Dreadwing at the Walmart in Lebonon IN, So these are starting to filter this way
As of right now MP Thundercracker is available on TRU.com. Edit It appears in stock on the mobile site anyway. https://toysrus.digby.com/toysrus/p...ransformers Masterpiece Thundercracker Figure
We are starting to see these on eBay drop in price. I am seeing an average of $90 - 100 now insead of $130. As more stock hits the shelves for now the prices will drop a tad more.
Yep, the Scalpers will no longer get $130 a piece for them. Several of the TRUs in the area today (Greenwood, Castleton, and on Washington st) each had some.
