I still have a weird feeling that there is going to be an Ultimate Version of this figure. Buster, Jetwing, and Striker all combined into one set. At least one can hope . . . . .

easy pass I already have the regular striker optimus...the swords and the chrome do not make me want to buy this....still looking for a rotf jetfire to combine with my regular rotf prime lolz

That's what giving me pause. I don't own a version of the DotM leader Prime, and this seems to be the best deco, but I really wanted the Jetwing parts.

As much as I want this fig, I've already got one too many movieverse Primes--ROTF, Buster, and Jetwing. And then there's the DMK kit I haven't even started on.

Price aside, I'm fast running out of space in my display room.

In retrospect, I would have passed on Jetwing and opted for Striker instead, as the latter seems to have more display possibilities with his guns, shield and "stealth" alt mode than a simple jetpack.

 

^ Yeah, I haven't even cracked open my DMK kit yet, let open taken the time to put him together. Maybe this weekend. I guess I can just display him next to DOTM Buster Prime (in alt mode), and keep Jetwing Prime separate, and the two Striker Primes (original DA-28 and this ASP-01) together as another display.

 

The reason for my delay is that I'm still planning the build.

For some reason, I just can't stand the brownish gray color they used for the metal parts. I'm going to do a full drybrush weathering on his metal parts, and give the plastic some additional shine with either FFP or a gloss top coat. Amateur stuff, I know, but then I am pretty much an amateur. So far, I've only built Gundam kits and flattened the shine on the plastic with a coat of clear matte.

 

The jetwing backpack is also pretty secure on Buster even without the notch. Really, the biggest issue I have with Buster Jetwing are the arm blades..

 

I have a buster prime with a bunch of mods and paint apps to it. It just lacks the striker accessories. I'm gonna take the smark option and since its the exact smae paint job as buster, I'm just gonna buy Big hache's shapeways dotm gun and make a custom grill/armour for vehicle mode. Save $100+ and looks just as bad ass. This mould I think is more for people who missed out on the buster mould.

 

Why are Bayverse toys still being released when we're deep into TF: Prime?

 

Some of us like Bayverse toys enough to keep buying them. Surprising, I know. XD
