You know what, next year I want to see a Unicron Kreon with a Unicron Kre-O Set, think about it, giant circular planet that you have to build and rebuild to transform. IT WOULD BE AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!

Found the blind packs on lunch today, SCORE!

Also, decided to pick up the Devastator with Ironhide exclusive set. I was at a big convo this weekend and didn't find anything that appealed to me, so I felt the need to redeem it.

Just got the Battle for Energon set for review from Amazon.

Blocks in general aren't that bad and the second iteration of sets seems better than the first set. Still, initial impression of Kre-O hasn't changed - this stuff just isn't Lego.

It's fine if you really want sets that have the pieces that make decent versions of the TF characters. As for the Kre-ons, ball jointed hips is great in theory super sucky in reality.

You mean the robots models, Prime and Megs? Only built the cars so far, they're better in that there are less wasted parted in the middle though admittedly they are much more fragile, ESPECIALLY Megs.

Kre-ons still can't stand for crap, lol. (And Megs came missing a hand and both had major stress marks around the wrists.)

Had you bothered to watch any Youtube reviews at all you would know that Megs is intentionally supposed to come with only one hand. The Quest for Energon Series of Kre-O sets is based heavily on the Prime toyline/show. Megs swaps out his hand for a blade on that show, in Kreon form Hasbro decided to include only the blade, in a way to make you spend more money to buy the original Megatron to have a Kreon with both hands. And order to diferrentiate the Prime Inspired version from his G1 counterpart.

Stress marks on the wrists seems to be a bit of a hit or miss issue, with more hit than miss on most Kreons though. Probably the nature of the plastic used and the size of the pegs that plug in for the hands.

On a sadder note, my Kreon Mirage broke his hand today, it hasn't fallen apart completely, but if you tried sticking anything in it the thing would snap. Need to do something about that, not sure what yet. Was thinking I might try using a toothpick or something to get a minute amount of Super Glue into the crack and then hope for the best. Some plastics just don't allow for good bonding agents.

Why do kreons have to be so damn cute? I want them, but I can't justify buying whole sets just for the mini figures. I'm so glad those micro changers and combiners are on the way!

Hah, weird. I just checked the instructions and see that missing the hand was supposed to be that way. That's what I get for just building them out of the bag instead of reading the instructions. I didn't even mention it in my Amazon review. (though I might now to make sure other buyers understand it and don't make the mistake I did.)

Besides why the heck would I watch a review for a building set?

Anyway, that comment that he was "missing" his hand was just an offhand remark. It was not at all my main issue with Kre-ons, which is that they can't stand for crap.

Reviews of anything help you to make informed decisions. And while the Kreons are a bit tricky to balance just right, most of the time mine stay standing just fine without being plugged into bricks and things to keep them stable. (Even when you shake the computer desk.) That's why they are one up on LEGO Designed Mini-Figures. The extra poseability allows you to balance them on their feet just so that way they don't fall over. (As often.)

Most LEGO Mini-Figures will create domino effects just by looking at them when they're loose off the base plates.

Can I get Kre-ons to stand? Yes, but I highly disagree that the are better than mini-figs or that they stand better.

As for watching a review, before creating a review, no. A review should mirror the experience that any buyer would have. If there is a serious question, about the way something works then a note like, "this isn't explains in the intrusctions and it's best to watch a vid review" might be footnoted in. But this a Lego-type set, a vid review to figure something shouldn't be close to being necessary.

I'm sorry I am officially confused, how can a video review be unnecessary to learn what the toy is about, what is included, how it transforms, how it looks next to similar toys, etc. etc. I mean I wasn't talking about you having to go see a review to follow a step or something, I was saying that by watching a review before buying the product you would have known that the Kreon didn't include both hands. That's it.

Just by looking at the box for Battle for Energon I believe you can tell he doesn't include both hands, does the box not show Megatron with only the blade hand in all images of the toy? Real and fictional type setting?

Anyway, yeah you shouldn't have to go see a video review to know how your toy works after you buy it, but you might want to do so if you're interested in making informed purchases and not wasting money on something which in the end run just might not be to your tastes. It's why people make reviews for anything, from toys to video games and hell, even reviews of products like brands of dishwashers exist out there.

You might choose to ignore what a reviewer says to try it out for yourself first, that is your perogative, but reviews can be very beneficial to learning about a product before you take the plunge and use hard earned money to buy it.

Ahhh..this is where we got cross-threaded. I was given the set specifically to create my own review for Amazon. I didn't buy the set.

I am tasked to create a review based on my experieces with the set. In the end I gave the set 4 out of 5 stars and like i said, I didn't mention that Megs didn't come without a hand. I thought it was a simple and very small QA issue, though I might go back and note that he doesn't so others don't get confused.

That's exactly what I was going to say. It shows him on the box with one hand and the blade for the other.

I grabbed the Wheeljack/Knockout set last night. I only have the new BB and OP/Megs sets left.

OK, it's on the box with him holding that way but would you expect that it would come with only one hand? To me, that's just weird.

Not saying they didn't mean it that way or that's it isn't understandable by checking the instructions. But I honestly would have still expected it to come with two hands even by paying attention to that picture.

I thought it showed the blade plugged into his arm? Like how Kreon Shockwave and that one Vehicon have a blaster instead of a hand.
