id say custom, the edges along the backpack are a little off, as in too sharp, and the multi part backpack, i.e., multiple colors on the top partition would suggest that it is a good custom, but probably not a official product
Between the font used for "ARCEE" on both the box front and back (in the "Power Plans"), I'm nearly positive this is a custom (i.e., NOT made by Hasbro or any other officially licensed toy company). Especially notice how the font for "POWER PLANS" differs from "ARCEE" right next to it. Rather amateurish, actually. I hope I don't sound too harsh to whoever actually did this. The toy itself is VERY nice. But I've done a few custom AM packages, and while I don't claim to reach "perfection", at least feel that I did a better job of making the FONTS not stand out like sore thumbs.
There is no product code or assortment number. Even if it was official, it was certainly never intended as a mass retail product. Also, both the toy and its accessories are way too different from official Action Masters (no blocky fists with holes for the gun etc.). and he seems t o have 2, one open and one sealed.... so 2 out of 19. he's lucky i say custom. looks liek a gi joe scarlet base, or other female joe type figure
Yeah, someone asked about this before... I think about two or three years back. General agreement was that it was a custom figure for all the same reasons Nevermore said. That and, yeah, he seems to have two of these guys so he must have been really lucky to stumble on two for $99.99 right? Aside from that, it's a really nice custom, but I think that he should just admit that it's a custom and not come up with some loopy story of how it's an official limited run product or something. Noobs get taken for a ride on stupid stuff like this all the time. And that's speaking from experience.
Definately a custom. The art is completely out of character with that used on the rest of the Action Masters, the font on the front for the name is wrong, the fists are wrong compared to what was used at the time, she appears to have elbows and she has her shoulder attachments - no other Action Master had anything like that, they were all very simple designs without any kind of backpack unless it was their accessories. It's a decent custom, but it is definately a custom.
I seriously doubt anyone here was under the assumption that this was a mass release toy. The lineup for Action Masters should be pretty common knowledge, with checklists, catalog scan and whatnot being available from multiple sources. The question for this thread was not "Did Hasbro release this toy to a mass market and everyone here for whatever reason, despite their extensive knowledge of Transformers, was too dumb to notice until know". The question was "Is this a toy officially developed by Hasbro but never officially released to a mass market or just a fan's custom?" As an example: None of the official catalogs list the G2 Stunticons, the G2 Protectobots, the G2 Laser Cycles Jazz and Soundwave or G2 ATB Megatron. TFU.info doesn't list them either (except for Breakdown, who was available as a BotCon 1994 exclusive), because they never officially came out. And yet, we do know that these toys were indeed planned and designed by Hasbro, and they even went so far and created mock-up packaging for those toys. So in essence, TFU.info's lists only serve to confirm whether a toy was released by Hasbro or not, but not whether they produced a toy that was never actually put on the market in the end.
