In my opinion, it's part of neither G1 or TF: Prime. It's his own new continuity, which is based on G1, but with some major changes.

I can see a lot of inconsistencies with the games and Prime. Personally, I prefer to look at Prime as stand alone. Of course however its stupid to say the games are connected to G1, despite having the Dinobots, the Aerialbots and Trypticon show up before their creation. Lets just say, that IGN reviewer who reviewed WFC is an example of a fan who can't remember anything from G1 other than the first three episodes and the movie.

    Huh?
Just because it doesn't tie into the cartoon... just because it doesn't tie into Marvel US comic... just because it doesn't tie into Marvel UK comic...

Doesn't mean it isn't G1. After all, none of the 3 listed above tie into each other either- yet they are all G1.

    So too can these games.

I see your point here. I can except that WFC/FOC is G1 in a similar way to the IDW comics, as in its a different universe of G1. However a lot of people thought that WFC was a prequel to the cartoon. It isn't.

The Prime Starscream is so very different from the WFC one - that is one of many reasons I huff and throw my head when Hasbro say they are related - yeah in the way I can put TF Cybertron Quickmix in my Classics display or call Movie 2008 Mudflap Erector - it's just wish fulfilment

There's far more discrepancies than similarities - and the games are not even consistent with each other across multiple platforms.

I consider it a alt Universe take on G1 like Hearts of Cybertron or one of the versus Gi Joe Comics - I don't consider it a legitimate prequel to anything - it is just it's own thing - by all means take some of the ideas from it but if you try to be slavish about it you soon trip over something that stand out as an ill fitting part.

Shockwave is clearly similar in both WFC/FOC and Prime - but yet whole Prime thing is a mess WFC Prime does look a bit like Prime TV Optimus in some ways (like the shoulders)- where as FOC Optimus is like an ugly Freightliner like design that looks more like a pre-earth G1 Optimus on a bad hair day.

Enjoy the game and enjoy the references it does have but please people don't say it's a canononical pre-quel to anything as if they can't even make the games across different gaming platforms match in the details then it's frankly silly to expect the details to match up to completely different formats.

Broadstrokes - fine - but detail - That's as silly as taking Hasbro's reboot of MASK idea as anything other that a complete insult.

And I used to be one of those people. My problem is that I took High Moon's statement at face value; however based upon evidence(s) from the games alone it clearly does not fit into any established G1 story. But nothing stops it from being its own G1 continuity.

So, in like fashion to dismissing Hasbro's claim that the games are related to PRIME, I dismiss High Moon's claim that these games are prequels to G1.

But if we to really think about it, it is much to vague of a statement to say that these games are prequels to G1 because there is no solid G1 foundation to what G1 is- G1 is only a series of continuities featuring the same cast of characters.

So too is the whole "Aligned Continuity" thing. Really, it means nothing. Others have lazily (imo) taken this to mean that they are all directly connected. I believe others are more on the right path with their "continuity family" analysis.

Ratchet isn't the same shade of green in DOTM - The shade of the 1st 2 movies is the same - it's a golden yellowish green kind metallic colour or faded or young leaves.
The 3rd Movie the main colour is pale grey and the green is more of a medium green with no noticeable yellow tinge at all.

The DOTM Voyager toy of Ratchet uses a similar green to the 2007 Voyager Ratchet toy - the 2008 Premium version is closer to his true colour in 2007-2009.

The toy versions though are a bit to yellow to be accurate to his true colours. But speaking of the movies 2007-2009 is not the same as 2011 in terms of actuall H2's real world colours - but what Hasbro did with the toys is a different matter entirely.

The actual one in the real world is a lot less yellow now in 2011 as well as having a totally different paint deco now that is quite a lot now silvery-grey.

Saturation levels and how much light are on it does effect how it appears as the paint is reflective and make it throw light in some funny ways (bit like how Optimus sometimes looks Orange).
But they are not the same colour green.

I got this quote for an entirely different topic and sense it was off topic there I thought I'd bring the quote over here sense this is where it actually belongs.

Soundwave actually says "Commencing Dark Energon Infusion" yes he does in fact use Dark Energon and here's proof of that.

why people still care about this? WFC is the only more close to G1 while fall of cybertron is more aligned to Exodus/Prime , FoC contradicts everything we see for the sake of prime and exodus so the only aligned to prime is FoC. also i hate people is still trying to revive the G1 when it already ended as a cartoon years ago, hasbro don't care about G1 anymore.

They don't care about G1 that much at the moment and certain people at Hasbro are trying to plow their own furrow in terms of creating their own Legacy.

But that legacy completely draws on the G1 original in many way Beast wars is actually a sequel/Prequel to G1 (of sorts) but it has more originality away from G1 than Prime does - Prime mixes things up a bit but the feel of it is kind of G1ish overall - yes with some influences from other material like Animated, and The Movies and even Beast Machines. But it's not Kiss Players is it.

The will continue to market and sell thing both in Asia and North America that draw on G1 though - and sure Hasbro are corporately trying to sell Prime and Rescuebots - I would point out that GDO has a lot more toys out now and in the near future directly related to the Classics Universe (which is essentially Modernised G1) than the do to either the Movies or Prime anywhere.

I'm not the only one to notice how few Prime toys there actually are - not to mention how many many months/years really after the show debued before any of the toys were even out.

And even if they don't officially aim big in terms of G1 related stuff they do still throw those things out there in some way - such as Minicon Dinobots or the Dollar store Legion toys. and Takara are far from disinterested in G1 - they are very keen to market at 30/40 something Otaku.
And the main focus of the Hasbro Global Development Organisation is to sell G1 related classics toys - The Movies ones they are supposed to be doing have not even turned up yet.

Prime is OK but if you want to enjoy your toys Your probably better off buying a GDO Hotspot over any Prime RID Voyager.

Hell, you are probably better off making your own papercraft Transformers with construction paper and Elmer's School Glue over any Prime RID Voyager.

FoC is a direct sequel to WfC so how can you say that one is connected and not the other?

Also I asked this before and never got an answer. How does FoC contradict WfC? There are no contradictions from one game to the other. There are however contradictions from both games to Prime.

Lets go over the differences between the two games.

Optimus Prime gets a new design but unlike Prime Megatron nothing in story prevents that from simply happening off screen.

Bumblebee can't talk which happens some time between the two games apparently. No contradiction there.

Arcee isn't even in FoC. You would think she would be a main character and given a new attitude and relationship with Cliffjumper. That would be a contradiction but they didn't do that so moving on.

Cliffjumper has a new head which doesn't contradict anything but is obviously based on the Prime design. Big deal, it's a homage, it doesn't connect them any more than Energon is connected to G1 just because Galvatron in both shows look the same.

Now you want to talk about a real design contradiction, where's Prime Megatron in FoC? Oh that's right he isn't there because that's a totally different character.

Ratchet, Starscream, and Soundwave are all the same in both games, none of them have been changed at all to match Prime or otherwise.

And there's no freaking Bulkhead to join Team Prime.

    So where are the contradictions?

If memory serves, she was doing recon, something the games never really got into, aside from Cliffjumper and Jazz's levels.

Prime Megatron was established to have been exploring the galaxy for Dark Energon- a Tank isn't exactly an ideal form in which to do so, and considering that it wasn't flat out war against the autobots, being a tank was somewhat moot anyway.

As for personality, Megs seems to have just kinda mellowed with age. the evil dictator bit is still there, but he's not quite the sociopathic raging warlord hellbent on destruction that basically destroyed Cybertron. Also we don't know exactly how long after FoC the events of Prime pick up, but even then and after going into space and coming back with Dark Energon I don't think it's out of the question that Megatron would have undergone some character changes.

It's never actually been established (at least, I don't think) that Bulkhead was part of Team Prime in the days leading up to the end of the war.

Are you kidding? Prime Megatron has ALWAYS looked like that, you can see it in flash backs. He didn't change form just to explore the galaxy he was never a tank.

As for personality, what do you mean MELLOWED with age? Prime Megatron is WAY MORE INSANE than WfC/FoC Megatron who is actually pretty level headed... you know except for the fact that he never realizes it's his fault Cybertron is uninhabitable. Prime Megatron, at least in the first season was just as crazy as G1 Galvatron. Second season Prime and the games the personality is pretty much the same.

Yes it has been established. It was mentioned in the very same episode that introduced Wheeljack and several other times in the series sense then. I've said this like 100 times already. He was a Wrecker during the war and met up with Optimus Prime leaving the wreckers to join team Prime during the final days of Cybertron. That's a fact so there for he must be in FoC.
