    [GUINNESSMAN]BRILLIANT!!![/GUINNESSMAN]

Scratch another of the interesting aspects of Transformer mythology (which has been in almost every generation by the way) for future stories.

    This is really interesting:
For most people the new exposed pipes/tube look was ok.
Then the fact that Megatron looks like crap was ok.
Afterwards came the odd flamy look of Prime and the fact that Jazz dies was accpeted by some. Not to mention the stupid blood connection between Prime and Megatron nad no mass shifting....(and these are just SOME of the horrible changes)

But now that there is a small thing like no Ark or Teletran 1, the skies are falling and all hell breaks loose.
So every horrible change was ok ? but no Ark/Nemesis or Teletran 1 is the worst thing that happend in the film ?!?
I wonder where is the perspective on the subject. Or was it the last straw ?

Oh for the love of...IT ISN'T DESTROYED. It's WRECKED, like how it appeared in the G1 cartoon and in Stormbringer.

Did you expected something else from the guy that wrote the script to
Catwoman? (It was him right ? Or was it the other guy...)

That was a stupid thing to say really.
I honestly could care less about the Ark in this movie, as this movie isn't really based off any certain era, even though it kinda is...
Anyway, I'd be happy if they would fly in any generic ship to get to earth.
How else are they supposed to get from Cybertron to Earth?
Unless he's trying to say they are going to get to Earth using some super sized Transformers with space ships as their alt modes or something, which he isn't.
I'm actually cool with their designs so far, but them not having a ship seems kinda wacky.
My only fear for this movie is that it's going to end up like many comic book based movies, where we won't even see the main characters til the last five minutes...

it was Rogers, "the other guy"... Roberto and Alex were hired to rewrite the script once Rogers got the boot.

no ark? how do tehy come to earth?

they come like protoforms, like they did on beast wars...

there is no point in having a hugeass spaceship like the Ark if there are only 4 autobots in it.

Who says they would come in a huge ship at all? Coming in a ship of any sort would be preferable to launching yourself from somewhere (Mars?) and stranding yourself at your destination. A reusable spacecraft can be used as a base of operations and an extraction method if ground transport is not an option.

its important enough for hasbro to make a titanium of it, but not important enough to put it in the movie?

remember the fan trailer? the awesome entrance of the ark?

as for hiding the ark... didnt it "hide" itself pretty well when it hit a volcano before man exsisted?
seems well hidden to me if its always been there.
there are so many things on this earth that have not been discovered yet.
i dont think a giant spaceship hidden inside a volcano would be to farfetched for a movie about transforming aliens.

    hmm...
    aliens...
    ufo's...

    SHIP?

    nah. that'd be dumb.

    :drunk

yeah dude thanks for the spoiler warning.
    i hope thats not true.
are they going for a vader telling luke he's his father thing?

They still had a ship in BW. And even the protoforms were in pods. No ship of any kind is stupid.

thanks for that i did not want to know who was going to die.

the main function of the ark was as a base and regrouping point.

i hope they write something else in instead maybe like the base the autobots had in R.I.D.

Cloaked ships are pretty much a sci-fi staple now anyway so I don't see any problems on that score.

Yeah, but you know, the concept of the Ark was stupid in the first place. In fact, I'm glad that they're not sticking to long-established ideas, like they did with Spiderman. I mean, how stupid was that? A man gets bitten by a spider (okay, it was radioactive, but this is the 21st Century, we now understand that radiation does not bestow magical powers), and develops spider-like powers? Just dumb. They should've made him a ninja, or something, who just so happened to be as nimble as a spider.

    Or something like that.

Okay, I'm not being entirely serious. And Nevermore's point is quite correct, and makes perfect sense.

And anyway, why bother trying to make things sensical? This is a film about giant robots that turn into cars. Does that make sense? No. Is it cool? Hell yes.

Same with the Ark. Does it make sense that a giant alien spacecraft could have crashed on our planet millions of years ago, and then remained hidden from us for this long? Maybe, maybe not. (Actually, if it's under a mountain, then... yes.) But is a giant, crashed, alien spacecraft full of giant transforming robots cool? Hell YES.

I agree with the complaints, but damn! 10 pages?!? Well, anyway, nowI'm gonna go call myself a space cab to take me back to Earth since I don't have nifty jets to get me there like everyone thinks I do (that's Astroboy, jackass!) Later!

Most of us are not upset about the Ark not being in the movie makes the movie "less like G1". I wouldn't care if they made it a small pink space cruiser shaped like a bumerang called it the "Optidrive-1".

We just think the omission of a spaceship, no matter how small it is, makes no sense from a storytelling perspective. There are lots of reasons to have a spaceship in the movie, but I can't think of any reasons why it would be BETTER NOT to have it.
