I like Blockhead, but I am concerned about his heel. His instep is so small; I think he'll have significant balance problems.
He has the entire outer side of his foot for counterbalance. I also left a cavity for adding weight to his feet.
Been a while sense my last update, but this little guy kept me pretty busy. Drop Shot (not sure if that name has been used or not) A little target master style bot, changes into a multi-barreled gun. This little goon has some serious fire power. There is an upgrade part in the works. It's a set of tank tread that will attach to the gun handle making him a little mini-con tank. The treads will fold on to his back in bot mode, or change into a shield if you still want to use him as a gun. The upgrade is a while off, so I figured I'll share the bot. This guy was a TON of work. As always, this is a VERY experimental piece. I'll order one and see if it even works as planned, once I'm happy with the results I'll make it available for purchase on my shapeways. Also my order for Blockhead finally shipped from Shapeways. I placed a big order and they took their sweet time getting the parts out the door. I dont mind it taking longer if they make sure the quality is good. Will have him early next week.
But when his feet are spread wide he won't be able to use that. The outstep isn't as important as the instep.
His feet are angle for the best balance vs possibility. He's a small figure 76mm tall, I did what I could in the space I had.
There are plenty of Transformer designs that have a hollow instep that stand just fine. Especially in the Cyberverse scale which this guy is in. Cyberverse Evac is a fine example of how the Blockhead's feet can and will work.
Any reason he can't have some more depth to the back of his head? I understand it's just part of the transformation, but it's just a bit "blocky"...
Drop Shot is looking tough, his Robot form is really detailed. I can't wait till someone starts making Tech Specs for these little beasts along with some artwork!
His head is kinda squished, but it was the only way I could get it to fit between his chest and back. This guy is pretty small, only 68mm tall. To keep the measurements of the chest and back plates within the proper print tolerance, I had to make his head kinda flat.
Little guys is in! He built well, needing just some sanding here and there. There are a few revision I need to make to the axles and wheels so they roll better. He'll be available soon. I also got the pop gun, and the ripper in. Both work great the Pop-gun will now be available for sale, I'll have much better photos tomorrow night when I shoot my Tokunation gallery. For now suffer these awful quick snaps. Focus.. As expected, the long outer side of his feet act like a heel to counterbalance his weight. He's a tad bit taller than expected. I wanted him to be dead on legion scale, but this size works well it's not worth resizing him and re-resizing all the pin holes. Vroom.... I finally got my hands on the ripper, I love this thing!! Jack has a plasma cutter and a ripper, he's ready to shred some necromorphs! It folds up when not in use Even works with NECA's Dead space 2 Issac Clark. How appropriate. Sadly it does NOT fit NECA's Dead Space 1 Issac Clark.
That is damn sexy. Get him dyed so we can see the detail better without the figure being overblown in the shot.
Just 18 gauge solid strand copper wire. Works great, cheap as hell. Very strong when cut in short lengths.
