yea, beast wars is good and all, but i can do without waspinator getting blown up or mashed EVERY episode (fine for what it was, but i wouldnt want to see a similar thing happening in Prime, it wouldnt fit with the feel of TFP) --- and Miko and Arcee have received a lot of criticism for running off, not doing what Prime says or whatever, are rattrap and cheetor any different? Pretty much every time Optimus Primal said 'dont do that' they smiled and nodded and went and did it anyways.

Not bashing beastwars, but if people held the same scrutiny for 1.5 seasons of beast wars as they do 1.5 seasons of Prime then the core of TFP naysayers wouldnt like either show.

 

You know what has me still watching the series?

I want to know what the full story behind Trypticon is. The episode itself might've been mediocre at best, but it brought up some questions that need answering. Someone programmed Trypticon into the Nemesis. Someone else gave Trypticon the mission to recover the Iacon relics (as it was made quite clear that Trypticon was not an extension of Megatron's own mind and goals). Most importantly, why does Trypticon only activate when Dark Energon is inserted into the power core of the ship?

So many questions, sadly I don't know that they'll ever be addressed, be it in this season or the next. If they plan on addressing this plot-point, then they can indeed turn this season around. Will it be enough to satisfy everyone? Heck no it won't, but it would be a good try nonetheless.

I know the odds of this being addressed are slim, but with Shockwave possibly on his way, there is a chance.
 

 

Why is season 2 lacking?

There's only one problem with that question.

The fact that season 2 ISN'T lacking and has been awesome.

 

In my opinion, Transformers Prime as a whole is just completely badass, and it's not lacking in Season 2. The only thing I don't care for is the talk of the Dinobots coming to the show, hopefully they'll only be there for like one or two episodes. Other than that I love TFP and salute its creators for making it

 

I'm SO glad they're done with Airachnid (for now). I hated her character; she was just annoying and idn't seem to much except aggravate everybody else  

 

Yeah. I reeeeally hope that they continue Breakdown's story (either through flashbacks or through bringing him back or through whatever they do with Silas and Breakdown's body), but I'm worried that they'll can that altogether and just forget about him. Hopefully I'm wrong.

Prime so far has a bigger story building up which may lead into more of the 13 mythos and that the relics and project Iacon may lead into a key to reviving Cybertron back to life. And good point about Beast Wars seeming at first didn't have much going on the first couple of episodes espcially in Season 1. The same went for Animated yet in time both shows were able to bring a lot to the table later on so Prime will likley follow in the same route.

Come to think of it I think if Beast Wars was airing today people would condem the show for bringing Optimus back to life again in Season 2 as a Transmetal when at the end of Season 1 it seemed like the Maximals would have to go on without thier leader for the rest of the show's run like how Optimus was brought back in the Orion Pax arc. And how people would've expected the Maximals to have an episode of mourning for Dinobot after Code of the Hero when it was the episode of Transmutate instead. People would've bashed the living daylights out of the episode and the show for that. The reason we're not is because the show's already over years ago.

And good point compairing Cheetor and Rattrap antics to Miko and Arcee's antics. They aren't too different when it comes to being reckless. However some people are willing to cut Cheetor some slack due to him being a kid and is more prone to hot headeness. Rattrap however is not a kid and therefore should know better to some exent. By the logic he should as hated as Arcee in that regard. Not bashing Rattrap here folks.

I feel as though this season doesn't have a ton of certainty as to where it's headed. Like, it has an idea of what it wants to do, but then it also has a ton of other ideas that it wants to execute. I guess a few things here and there are subjective; for example, I would've liked that Optimus remained Orion Pax or that his time under Megatron's influence had some sort of impact on him. I didn't mind Breakdown's death as much as some do, but I think that, since this is a show, his various plot points should've been resolved beforehand. (Though, really, I always figured it had something to do with Adam Baldwin being unable to voice the character rather than the writers wanting to just off him for no reason.)

Still, I find the show generally enjoyable, and I stick with it simply because it's fun enough to watch (also because Soundwave). Hopefully the second half of the season can show us that the show always knew where it was going, and that the first part is better off "in context," so to speak.

 

I Just didn't like the episode Armada. Season 2 has been pretty good, though Season 1 is still my favorite.

 

Argh! Season 2 is NOT lacking. I've loved every episode so far.

The show is getting much better now. Shockwave, new Autobot, Silas joining Megatron....it's going to rock our socks off.
