"We're going to shrink the toy, but charge you more."

You know what, Hasbro can keep their toy, I am not paying for something that small that is available in a local store for an outrageous price.

Sure, he looks great, but put him on the shelf next to the Animated toyline, he then looks like crap. I would have to call him Optimidget Prime to justify his being there.

Hey hey, we are talking about the plastic crack here, not that powdered crap.

Shockwave worth it. I just got him.ya he a little small but I enjoy him. The a lot of nice details on him. I also think prime and jazz should be bought at 9.99 though.

Toy prices don't adjust for inflation hardly at all. Prices are almost the same as they were in the 1980s, which is absurd. So in the short term, you are paying more for less (and I can't argue, I wasn't thrilled to pay $15 for Jazz). But we are probably getting more for our money than we were last decade.

The nice thing about collecting is we aren't locked into a contract or anything. Each individual toy can be worth it, or not.

While I am not happy with the size of OP, Jazz is ok, though I still feel BB and CJ are too big! I personally prefer that Megs and Op and other similar figures should be Voyager sized, what can you do??? They should of kept the scale more in line. That being said, the Combaticons seem to be in line with the rest of the CHUG line... I could be wrong. Also, the other repaints comming out are of the same size as their original molds (a tall Wheelie, wtf?). Sad that its pretty much the FoC line that has to suffer. I find it weird that they are making Soundwave/blaster as Voyagers, when they should also include Megs, OP, Shockwave, and Starscream. I AM going to buy Jazz & Shockwave, and Sideswipe, and pass on Op, but will have to figure something out with Ultra Mag.

Lots of funny post's, and I enjoy reading them all. I'm glad people are passionate about their hobbies.

Edit: Oh yeah, Onslaught should also be Voyager sized.

which one? LOL. you are completely correct, but put Lockdown, Cybertron Ratchet and Swindle together.....then argue the concept of a uniform "size" for deluxes.

That would be a lot of Voyagers.

Anyway, Soundwave/Soundblaster/Blaster are Voyagers in order to have the disc-popping gimmick. Then Grimlock is a Voyager because he's fricking HUGE in the game trailer, and they accommodated a light-up mouth. In the FoC line, Optimus, Grimlock, and Bruticus are all kinda to scale. This also works well with Blaster when you think about his clashes with Grimlock in the comic book (and G1 Blaster was a gigantic toy).

Much as I'd love a Voyager Shockwave, I'm quite happy with the Deluxe one. Also, Megatron's design is totally lame IMHO, so I'm glad to stick with the WfC Deluxe. If you keep your Deluxe Soundwave, you get a nice collection of WfC/FoC Decepticons.

I think the purpose of FoC Ultra Magnus is essentially to attract those of us who don't want to replace WfC Optimus with FoC Optimus, but would still buy the mold. :lol

I really like him, but if he's too much of a shrimpy-pants I'll take inspiration from the Club comic and call him "Magnum."

Because I do not distinguish series on my shelves. I put all version of Prime together, all versions of Grimlock, all versions of Megatron, all versions of Starscream, all versions of whatever.

Here is a picture before I sold off half of my collection:

I think Beast Wars predicted this.

Later generations of cybertronians got smaller as time went on.

It amuses me that this pretty much sums up the trouble with Capitalism. Makes me wonder what'll happen a little further down the line, when push comes to shove and things get hairy.

    My usual 2 cents:

    - Get used to it. The rest of the world pays more, about damn time the US sucked it up and did so too.

    - Buy third party. At least you know where your damn money is going (most of the time anyway).

And always remember why you are collecting transformers. Because you like the characters? Or because you like giving just two companies all of your money?

Bravo, a most amusing and accurate post! I like your style :lol

Though in the UK we still have the Pound Sterling (THANK FUCK)...but then it's not called rip off Britain for nothing!

And having just read the other pages I missed, I now realise just how old this thread is. :lol

They really should've just made Prime and Shockwave voyager figures. Had they done that, I'm sure far less attention would have been drawn to the deluxes being undersized.

FOC = full of crap! As stated, if you don't like it at least you'll save some cash.

Luckily most of the big ticket characters have been made already. My Classics shelf is missing very few characters I actually want. The rest.. F you, Hasbro.

with such hatred towards Hastak; maybe you should throw away all your figures. Telling a company to F off doesn't fix anything.
