Ha thats cool. What would be even cooler is if you built a Lego Graboid to come through the wall. In the UK there are Team GB Minifigures, 9 of them all based on Olympic sports. Anyway I was wondering are these just for the UK? Or does everyone else also have them in their own colours?
Just for the UK. I personally have no interest in these, fortunately. I am however excited to find Series 8 in stores. I need a little team of Conquistadors.
Hiya Frist time posting here and was wondering since I get paid soon what I should go for I was thinking of geting the Black pearl or the monster fighters ghost train I been racking it around in my brain for a while. I:
Well the Monster Hunters line just came out so they'll be on shelves for a while. So I'd probably look to the Black Pearl first.
Anybody else can give a recomendation for the new SW DS playset. I never thought abt it until i saw it in person, just the sheer size of it is awesome. Price is expectedly on the high side, i was wondering abt being patient and maybe wait within a year of release to get a good bargain. I can see prices are as low as 400 on amazon (my local price is towards 600 bucks, yikes. Even if i import it wouldnt cost that much). Also gives me time to track down a midi scale mill. Falcon since i just got back into lego, man the SW stuff is expensive.
I saw it at the Lego store for $400. They also had the Super Star Destroyer for the same price, which surprised me since the SSD has like 2x the pieces I think. I'd love to get both but I don't have the budget or room. I did go to TRU today and get my first LotR set, Gandalf Arrives. I also saw some of the new Star Wars sets in. They had Palpatine's Arrest and the Naboo Sub in stock, had price tags out for the Malevolence and Jabba's Palace but none on the shelves, and then a display for Droid Escape (old) Palace, and the Sarlacc Pit. Unfortunately they hadn't even gotten the Sarlacc Pit in yet, and it's the one I want the most.
I said what the heck, and tried to find the series 7 Rocker Girl. Only had to feel through 50 bags to find it.
The Death Star (set 10188) has been available since 2008, which is a long life for a Lego set. Most sets are only produced for about two years, sometimes less. The best deal is to get it direct from Lego when they have double VIP points, which would get you $40* towards another purchase. There may be an occasional deal on Amazon, but those would go quick. *As log as you get something, even just a few pieces from pick-a-brick, to bump the points over 800, instead of just 799 for the DS alone which would get just $35 in rewards.
The Death Star has more pieces (3,803) compared to the SSD (3,152). It's unlikely that an older set will have less pieces if it's the same price of a newer set. I'd say the Death Star is a better set overall. SSD doesn't really have a detailed interior.
I swear the boxes listed a different number. Maybe I was looking at the model number instead. But yeah, The SSD did not look anywhere near as interesting as the Death Star.
I think I'm gonna track down and get the Winter Village play sets. Just ordered the winter bakery today.
Nice. The Winter Toy Shop is pretty awesome -- my favorite of the three buildings. I do regret passing on the Holiday Train. Can't find one for a decent price now... The Winter Village Cottage looks pretty cool.
Picked up the Deep Sea diver mini figure yesterday. Pretty cool, and super easy to find. Look for the biggest puffed up bag and feel for the helm. The Alien queen is easy too. She is the only one with the one piece dress thing. LET THE HUNT BEGIN ANEW!
The new wave is out? I've come to the conclusion that there is manufacturing grease on the newer sets. When I put The Zombies set together I put on some gloves so there would be no possibility of sweat or lotion. Days later there still was a layer of white residue on the set.
So I've been cutting back on buying Lego (I've only bought two sets this year) but I just had to pick up the Werewolf set. I've been wanting a proper Werewolf for a long time. (I have an original character who is a Werewolf.) I wish I did. I've lost three or four over the years. I once tried to make my own capes, but I couldn't find the right kind of material.
