So I just gotta ask..For those of you that was really into, Bionicles(Back in the day, before Hero Factory :redface2:  ) as much as you are now with the, Transformers franchies..Did any of you fans ever watch the movies? If so what was your thoughts..And rating them would be awesome, just to see everyone opinions.

Bionicle Web of shadows in my opinion was tops my list. 9/10 stars.

I only have Metru Nui on DVD, which is my second favorite.

This is how I list them, best to worst:

    1. Mask Of Light

    2. Metru Nui

    3. Web of Shadows

    4. The Terrible Dissapointment- I mean, Legend Reborn

If you have it, Web of Shadows is on Netflix Instant.

Do not waste your time with Legend Reborn, though. It's piss poor and I can't believe it was the last movie. Should had a STARS based movie...

I own all 4, I was a Huuuge fan back in the day. I always thought Metro Nui was the best, followed by Mask of Light, then Web, theeeenn the last one. Don't get me wrong, though. web of Shadows was pretty great.

    Yep.

I loved WoS. MoL was good, too.

As campy as Legend Reborn was, it's voice cast was excellent. I mean Michael Dorn, Jim Cummings, Fred Tatascoire, and even Kiina's VA did a good job.

None of them were particularly very good but I do still hold Mask of Light as a fond part of my childhood. The animation of the first three was fairly choppy but had a sort of cinematic flare that The Legend Reborn never had. I guess it was the music and some of the cinematography?

Speaking of which, The Legend Reborn was such a lost opportunity. As soon as moments of brilliance start to come up, it gets squandered by shitty directing. Screw Mark Baldo.

Don't get me wrong, I loved the voice cast, but the film sucked.

I agree with your comment, Legend Reborn was not the best. I would've wished if we had a movie based on the Toa Inikas - Mahri, That would've been something awesome to watch.

I was gonna ask him about that role, had I gone to TFCon, but money is *raspberry* and I can't go. Not even for a day.

Mask of Light was the shit. Legends of Metru Nui was good. Web of Shadows wasn't the best. A Legend Reborn was utterly terrible.

I still think 2006-2008 should have had a movie.

2009-2010 Was the Phantoka, and Mistika era right? When all the originals six came back and started to have cool flying gear. If so that would've been a intresting movie to based it on.

    Yep.

One also does not simply forget the amazingly awesome Makuta released that year.

From a conceptual standpoint, you could really tell that they were trying with what they had in the first three. I don't know what happened with Legend Reborn but it was clear that the same amount of detail was not provided. The character models themselves looked alright, but the rest of the production was made out of swiss cheese. It really was a worst case scenario, whether it was 2D backgrounds, the horribly unfinished looking opening, the godawful music, stock sound effects or the shoddy "action scenes".

I think the general consensus is that the series just got progressively bad.
That being said, I really wish they made a movie of the 2008 storyline with the original Toa Nuva voice cast.

EDIT: Scratch that. Each year up until 2009 should have gotten a movie. 2006? Yes please.

The Inika story would have been great, since the Nuva were in it. Plus, the Piraka were the best villains from a character standpoint Bionicle had.

Although not really a Bionicles fan I was on a CGI movie kick for a while and these looked kinda robot-y enough for my tastes so I gave them a go (and they were already cheap on release - almost half the price of a regular new release DVD if I remember). I've got the first three but as I can never remember what any of them were called I never got around to the buying the fourth one since I'd always get the titles mixed up. Reading the back of the DVD boxes didn't help either because all those weird Bionicle names just wouldn't stick in my head for more than five seconds to work out if it was one I'd already bought or not. Even now I couldn't tell you my Rapu Nuis from my T'Paus and Mahjongs.

As for the movies themselves, they were okay. I'm not likely to ever rave about them. The standout thing I do remember is in, I think, the third one it was set before(?) the first one or something so I spent the entire film trying to work out the continuity of everything.

They're not bad, and I've thrown them in the player now and then for my little niece to watch and she seemed to enjoy them well enough, and I would like to one day get the fourth one just to have all four.
