Ever since I got "War Breakdown" I am finding it very difficult to stop playing with Zam (RHINOHAMMER!). I have been brewing in my head, thinking of other potential AM figs to get, if only for their Minicons (not the most financially wise idea, I am aware), though I am aware that some will be seeing separate release (PRIDE Cliffjumper and Skywarp, specifically).

    I was wondering:
    1. Any thoughts on specific Minicons?
    2. Any in particular you'd like to recommend?
    3. Any you desire? (I want Airachnid's, but not her :( )
    4. Any to avoid?
    5. From what you can recall, which ones will be sold separate from a main figure?

    Thank ya kindly.

Sooner or later I'm guessing they will all be available separately.

I don't find them so fun though, they rely on a lot of stickers for parts that move around, and with minimal playwear [just transformations and having the figures hold them] some stickers come off.

Most are not bad in weapon mode, though.

I am with you in enjoying the AM feature but at the same time I agree that these are EXPENSIVE!

Well, they're coming out with them as a set of 6. So far they have the sword set and the sheild set. I'd recommend those. Hopefully they'll be out sooner than later.

I only have the shadow version of Cliffjumper's micron, and I love it. I plan to get more, but yeah they're really expensive for what they are. On that note, TFSource and BBTS have the mainline microns at 7.99 each, but Robot Kingdom have them listed at 3.99 each.

In my opinion if you like Zam you should look into getting the little Ravage guy, he has the same kind of singular optic face going on and he's a nifty little chainsaw weapon AND ravage. He looks really nice alongside Prime Soundwave, the bladed weapons a bit long for him, but in the correct poses its pretty cool, just so he has a weapon. But then the scorponok chappy with the takara soundwave looks nifty too.

I think all Decepticon Arms Microns have mono eye, and I love them all.

According to TakTom staff, two people are responsible for all Arms Microns. One person for each faction, and Decepticon Micron designer used to work on ZOIDS before the merge. I'm all for mechanical evil (mini) beasts, though Autobot ones aren't too bad, either. I love Optimus' blaster micron.

I'm pleased with the rhinohammer as well and would not be averse to dropping a couple bucks for some more. $4 at most but I'd prefer $2.

I have only 3 of these, rhino hammer, knock out's crab spear and vehicon's dog gun.

Rhinohammer's my fave of the 3.

I think they pretty cool, tried coming out with my own combinations as most of the official ones look half-assed. I think they're just better as stand alone figures.

I love them. Never cared for Minicons, but somehow these work for me. The pairing is sometimes odd, but I'll get as many as I can.

They're neat but I only have AM Skywarp and Terrorcon Cliffjumper's microns opened and completed (Chainsaw Ravage and Goat Shuriken). AM Breakdown's Rhino Hammer (on the way to me via BBTS PoL) looks pretty neat but he'll mostly stay in weapon mode like Skywarp's Goat Shuriken. AM Red Cliffjumper's Tri-Blaster Warpath is still waiting for me in Japan (wife bought it for me but left it back at her dad's house there; will be visiting Japan in October to get it and other stuff).

I do have a complete set of all 4 Shadow Arms Microns thanks to RobotKingdom's last giveaway but haven't even opened them yet (will probably sell them to fund other TF purchases).

As neat as the AM line is, I tend to want only those microns that have had G1 counterparts, such as Ravage, Warpath (as a minibot), and the little mini Scorponok that AM Soundwave comes with (preordered the standalone Scorponok since I already have Hasbro Soundwave). I kinda want Darkness Megatron due in large part to AM Scythe Ratbat; they look awesome together.

i can't stand most of the armada minicons but these guys seem less like minicons and more like targetmasters, which is why i love them. i need to get around to buying some once i get some money.

I want Terrorcon CJ's, but not enough to pull the $40 trigger for the pair.

I will, however, buy the crap out of Butcherbird (the cleaver that turns into a bird). I want that thing so damn much.

I have purchased all of them; only Breakdown's and Vehicon's microns and the Gashapon microns I don't have in hand yet in some form because they're sitting in my PoL. The Decepticon animal microns are all great. Jida (w/Terrorcon Cliffjumper) is a particular favorite because of the Ravage-like appearance, and the Scorponokish Zori (w/Soundwave) is great too. Cliffjumper's micron C.L. is the only one that's been a pain in the ass to put together; the legs, I think, were really hard for me to pop on, unlike everything else where clipping the kits together is a breeze.

So far stickers are holding up all right, but Bulkhead's micron B.H.'s stickers that fold over the "cannons" rather than the flat surfaces are starting to peel up already. I'm curious how well the other stickers will hold, considering many of the microns have very small stickers that are easily lost/vacuum bait if they should ever fall off. The small stickers are the one thing I'm not very happy about, regardless of which micron it is.

    Jida (w/Terrorcon Cliffjumper)
    Zori (w/Soundwave)
Shadow Microns (I imagine they could work well with the upcoming Nemesis Prime or Terrorcon Bumblebee)
Gra (w/Knockout, a fun little crab guy)
Gul (w/Starscream, a Laserbeakish vibe, though with the colors, probably more Garboil)
Hades (w/Darkness Megatron...perhaps oversized for a micron, but it looks wicked from pics)
B.H. (w/Bulkhead...more for hilarity than anything, given the 'bot mode, plus the weapon modes are great)

I'm a micron collector so I'm picking up all of these for the microns since I'd rather get them now than pay jacked up prices 10 years from now, like I have with some of the harder-to-find Unicron Trilogy era microns. That said, I'm already looking forward to Darkness Megatron's two microns (Gora II and Hades), Swerve's (pics just came out yesterday, I think) and the upcoming Battle Shield and Sword combiner microns (the Battle Shield, at least at first, are a TRU exclusive with a slightly redecoed AM-01 Optimus; the Sword microns are the first three being released individually this week).

I wrote a mini-review of the two recent "Shining" convention exclusive microns, and Shining O.P. (the clear blue variant of Optimus Prime's micron partner) actually had stress marks appear immediately on the two clips around the "hip" area, which is something that hasn't happened with either Shining B.2 or the Shadow microns (all also made in clear plastic). I can still transform it fine, but if you don't want to spend $30-70 on a tiny figure just to have it break on you at a crucial point one day, it may be the one to avoid so far.

So far, Jida, C.L., Balo and Zori we know are being sold individually, though redecoed. The Jida, C.L. and Balo redecos are supposed to be out this weekend; Zori not until September, I think. Additionally, the first eight microns (going by number, since Gul was released out of order along with Starscream) along with Zamu (Breakdown's) and Noji (Vehicon's) are getting individual campaign releases if they have not been released already.

There's supposed to be a mail-in exclusive version of the Gashapon Optimus Prime Blaster coming up as well, I think in clear red plastic.

This is a problem I've seen with a few of the microns and their energon crystals. I had to enlarge one of the holes in my normal C.L. micron because it wasn't big enough for the crystal to peg into (even now it's not a great fit). This is one of the other small annoyances I have with the Arms Microns so far.

I kind of want Knock-out with Swerve's micron painted completely silver.

To the OP, great idea for a thread.
I've been wondering this myself for a little while.
Current ly I have breakdown adn skywarp and their respective microns, although I dont use skywarps goat micron with skywarp. I think the goat micron is great but it doesnt suit slkywarp at all so I have him on display attched to FE Bulkhead. I only got breakdown yesterday, he is so good and so is his micron.
i have been contemplating getting the terrocon cliffjumper and gettin his micron would be an added bonus.
The rest I can wait until they're on sale individually but I do like the look of soundwave and knockout's mincrons. I'm not mad about the darkness Megatron, dont like the chrome but I do like his microns.

Two big reasons I'm considering getting AM Terrorcon Cliffjumper:
    1. Minicon! Ya'll seem to love that Jida-Ravage, and I've also had my eye on 'em, too.
    2. Terrorcon! BBTS is exclusively getting a "Dark Energon" line, where various figures are redecoed with translucent plastic for a "dark energon" effect, I feel the AM Terrorcon Cliffjumper could fit well with this aesthetic (also, I'd play with that one instead of my SDCC Terrorcon Cliff).

The two potential things stopping me from jumping on it are:
    1. Jida-Ravage is going to be released in that red translucent "Hell Flame" promotional giveaway.
    2. I did play with the SDCC Cliff a little bit, and I've determined that the FE mold is NOT fun to play with/transform.

So...as time passes a more educated decision shall be made.
