what was the deal with the magic number of $200 dollars though? is anything above that something you're charged for customs?

If you got a big haul, $200 is a fair guess at it's worth.

IE I'm someone who has no idea what toys are what, what they cost, etc. and I see a big pile of them in your suitcase, and you tell me they cost you $200...I'd believe you more then if you said they cost you $50 or something crazy like $1000 (even if it did cost you $1000 for say 5 masterpiece figures and some other things)

Basically just pick a number that isn't too low or too high.

 

While I'm very intrigued to see who the mystery guest is, I guess I wished I knew who it was so I could make some artwork for them like I'm doing for some other guests. XD Speaking of surprises though, it seems TFcon's going to have some really cool surprises this year, so I'm pretty excited!

I'm going to have to find some time to listen to this but I am so stoked for it without even listening to it.   This will be my first TFCON as well, and only my 2nd TF convention (Botcon 2010 being my only one).

 

No real story behind this, I'm afraid. It was just a random thought that I worded as a nod to Norm MacDonald.


Also unless I missed something, I love how nobody mentioned the importance of showering & having a change of clothes for the convention. I really, really hope that was a silently intentional poke at the fandom.

 

I didn't realize there was so much on Sunday. I should have made plans to stay through to Monday. Live and learn I guess.

 

It's never too late to add an extra day.

 

It's too late to get an extra day off of work for my wife and myself, plus we'd have to pay an extra day at the boarder for our dog. Next year we'll plan for it, and also showing up earlier on Friday. We'll be getting in around midnight...

 

Will any of the dealers be carrying Gundam Models? I kind of want to go Sunday to see if I can find cheap Gunpla.

 

It's possible...I've seen a few but not many so if you're looking for a specific one it may be just by chance you see it there.

My advice, if it isn't gonna sell out online super fast, wait till after the show and see if ya find one there.

 

Can someone record the entire famicom game panel? I'd love to see it!

Further is anyone REALLY bummed that Hasbro isn't going to be doing a panel this year? It's always a re-hash of what we already know (thanks to 2 prior cons) and even last year when we all got to make lists of questions to be sent to them that we were curious of, most of the responses (99%, I leave 1% uncertainty because I don't remember if they did answer something) were "Currently there are no plans for this."

 

It's the same reason that you have do declare a value when you ship internationally.
After a certain point (cost wise) the other country wants their taste of the tax they didn't get when you bought it elsewhere.

 

Really wish I could be at TFcon too, but I guess I'll just have to enjoy it from behind the keyboard like I always do heh
