came across this guy today. transformation is meh. alt mode is meh. ankle kibble is meh. but the robot mode is pretty solid and the articulation is enjoyable - could definitely use some waist swivel though. i guess i'm ok with this for $20, it's more a $15 figure.

The pose-ability and sculpting on this guy is simply amazing. I don't know how many figures can stroke their own chins, much less make it look this good:

However, the forearm pegholes are already showing signs of stress (one even has a small crack!) from using only the missiles, and I've had it for less than a week! Quite worrisome...

    Cripes...
Would it not be possible to mount magnets inside his arms & heat a nail, before running it straight down the peg on the missile?

That way, the function is retained - without the stress from the missile...

It's a problem with all the ports in his clear plastic – they're just a titch too small for the 5mm pegs, so it takes some real force to wedge them in there. The first time I pegged his powerizer weapon into the cockpit port, it immediately sprouted a web of stress marks. '

On the upside, once they've been stretched open, the pegs fit fine and the stress marks don't appear to be getting any worse.

I think this is a great toy! I was initially afraid that he wouldn't have a bicep or wris swivel, but if both were standalone grey prototypes, Powerizer Starscream would clearly top the FE version, even though the FE is still a great toy.

By the way, am I the only one who's repainting him in a Blue Angels color scheme?

because every transforming plane needs a gerwalk mode.

I don't give a damn about the scale "issues", and being that I am not even remotely willing to spend 30+ on a deluxe to get the FE, I'm more than happy to have this guy in my collection. He looks great, poses very nicely, pretty decent transformation too. Really enjoying him. Knees on mine seem a tad bit weak up to a certain point, unless they are meant to be like that. And of course the mechtech/powerizer weapon is fucking terrible.

I got this guy the other day, and while the I am thrilled to have the FE figure and I do think it is the better figure, this guy is just more fun.

Just got this and damn, it's sweet. I got a flawless one too, waist clips on perfectly. I thought I wouldn't like it as much as the deluxe, but this is an excellent figure; completely poseable and just full of personality. It might be new buy syndrome, but... I think I like the voyager more now? At the very least, they're equally cool in my book.

    I fully recommned this dude!

I recently got a Starscream as well, and the waist holds fine on mine too. I wonder if, like Bulkhead's back kibble, there's some kind of running change.

On my Starscream, the joint for the waist has molded edges so it's not completly round. The joint is loose on the round area, but once it's in place for transformation it's tight. It doesn't tab into anything, but it stays in position just fine.

If anybody with a loose Starscream can take a look and see if it's completely round, that would prove whether or not its a running change.

The waist drives me insane. It LOOKS like it's supposed to snap in, but I have no clue whats getting in the way of it not doing so. You can see there's a little divot where the "wheel" that's on there is supposed to set into, but it goes nowhere near it.

As Matt before you noted, it's the joint not being exactly round and friction that keeps it in place. It works (on mine, at least), but I'm not sure why they didn't just make it peg in somewhere to be safe.

the waist on mine doesn't tab in, however it stays just fine. i don't think it suppose to tab in at all, its just a friction joint. people are just assuming that hole is also used for the waist outside of the alt mode.

Finally found this figure at retail (I ignorantly didn't try HTS until they were sold out).

Anyone else have INSANELY tight joints on his arms - or is that part of the running change that includes the waist fix?

His waist doesn't clip into place - but it also doesn't flop, because all the joints are so tight.

I quite like the "bird"-mode that showed up with that chrome (Darkness?) Megatron pic. Goes nicely with Soundwave's "bird" mode:

    Terrifying demon crotch, though.

    "Um... sirs?"

Not sure if this is been brought up (with photo comparisons, I mean), but it looks like modern Voyagers are also using less plastic, much like their Deluxe counterparts. On the other hand, Prime Starscream isn't supposed to have a lot of mass. *shrug*

I love this figure. I actually like the powerizer weapon, all it needed was a clear ruber band

I haven't found it yet, but does anyone think this is better than the FE? I'm kinda sick of people bowing down to the FE when this version is better.

The transformation is very simple (my one upset) - but it looks great in both modes & is easier to get than the FE, still a win in my book :thumb
