Pretty much. I liked Jeong in movies like Knocked Up, Role Models and The Hangover while Malkovitch is a badass bad guy in The line of Fire.

Shia's only decent role was in Disturbia.

Jeong....I have yet to find him entertaining in any role I've seen him in, DOTM included

I liked them both. They were the only points in the film that people laughed at.

Jeong's part in the film was awful... you know there's something very wrong when you actually prefer Leo Spitz over them.

I think that's a regular problem of BayFormers, that several times some human characters could've been combined together and probably ended up being better for it. BayFormers humans tend to be one-note wonders rather than having any layers. It's like 'Haha! Let's have a crazy conspiracy guy at Sam's job!' and then 'Haha! Let's have Sam's boss be weird and eccentric!' rather than perhaps 'Let's have Sam's boss be crazy and eccentric and also a bit of a conspiracy guy'. Make one two-ply tissue-thin character rather than two one-ply tissue-thin characters. He may still be tissue-thin but he's probably better for having more than one layer to him.
Not to mention a likely saving of screentime by not having to set-up and follow and pay off so many single-layer human characters. A good writer will look at where perhaps just one character can fulfil the story requirements of two or more characters and combine those to make things more streamlined.

I love anything Malkovich does, and I thought he played the self-loving, douchey boss perfectly.

Every scene with Jeong could have been cut and the film would benefit from it. Get the manifesto elsewhere.

After reading the books, and seeing the movie a good dozen times. I see both of the characters being ok and needed. Considering we didn't get to see Megatron step on Leo in RotF... I'll take both Jeong and Malkovich. And "Wang" was being extreme on purpose, because he knew his MINUTES were numbered. Loved him giving Malkovich the "what for, in yo face" speech before leaving the bathroom... and everytime I see that stall scene... I wonder how many takes it took without Shia just bursting into laughter...

Yeah, much of the focus was given to the quirky, goofy characters in the movies to play up the humor (Sam himself is enough - but we also have had Leo, Sam's parents, Wang, and Simmons, and of course with the TFs there was Skids and Mudflap). Characters like Epps and Lennox get pushed aside. And Sideswipe, Ratchet and Ironhide got pushed aside for the Twins in ROTF. A couple of quirky characters would've been fine, but drowning in them is a no-go.

My pick would be Jeong. "Deep Wang" made me appreciate Leo Spitz a tiny bit. At least with Leo he was a geeky college kid who got pulled in over his head, so when he freaked out, it was semi realistic, if annoying.

The milk scene in the elevator and the bathroom stall scene with the "manifesto"? Way past the point of silly. The role Wang played in the story was hampered by sheer ridiculousness.

I don't have much appreciation for Bruce Brazos either (though I must admit to liking his "fuckin' awesome" line upon seeing Bee, maybe because I might have had that reaction myself  ), but I think the character and Dylan Gould could have been combined - have Brazos be the one that was working the 'Cons.

He is the only comedy that should've been used for the TF movies because he is the most tolerable, aside from thong underwear. At least he himself matured in DOTM.

Yeah, I do like him overall. Like you, I think the thong scene shouldn't exist.

The main problem is that he's in a sea of other quirky characters. It's simply a case of it being too much. Like in ROTF, he was with Sam, Leo, and the Twins. It was a case of too many quirky characters. Replace the Twins, with two other Autobots, and cut Leo, and I think you'd have a more interesting [not annoying] group.

I definitely could've done with just him and Sam, as far as quirky/comedy characters go.

I liked Dr. Ken in the Hangover.
DOTM...Not so much. Though honestly, I could do without both. Jeong manged to get a chuckle out of me, at least.

Twins could've easily been replaced with the Arcee triplets or Jolt. That way, they would get larger roles and decent characterization.

Jeong. He had an important role, but the manner in which his character was presented was very distracting and unecessary. I'm sure there were a number of people in the audiences who missed out on what the deal with him was.

    Exactly.

and with Grey Delisle voicing Arcee that was such as hugely missed opurtunity. She deserved to portray the charecter better.

I envisioned Jolt voiced by Curtis Armstrong (Dan from Dan V.S)

I hate Dan VS. I wanted Jolt to be voiced by Nolan North instead.

Can I say both? LOL? I guess Jeong for me.
