It's cool by me. Would have thought Prime to be closer to 34 ft, but it's no biggie.

Anyways, I really don't care about Jazz being smaller than BB. B's car is bigger, and there's no mass-shifting....so...*gasp* JAZZ IS TEH SMALLER?! NO WAI.

 

It occurs to me that the weight(or mass for those metric preferring people) / height ratio should be at least similar for all the autobots. The easiest way to prove that there’s a mistake about Prime's height should be to do a little calculating.

Since Wiki doesn't have the approximate weights of those car models listed, and I'm lazy... and have to be at work in a few minutes... I'll leave it to someone else to figure out what that ratio should be.

 

I thought prowl was second in command and Jazz was battle commander....or something to that affect................or am I wrong?

 

It looks like Michael Bay has taken raping my childhood to new heights.

G1 wasn't all that clear on that. Sometimes it was Prowl, sometimes it was Jazz, sometimes it was Grimlock.

Heck! In the episode with the Prime clone, Ironhide takes the command.

Back on topic: it's weird that Jazz is the smaller one, so it falls on the script to give Bumblebee his "underdog" status.

That's pretty much what I thought.

The way I always saw it was Prime was #1 and Prowl and Jazz were #2a and #2b. I always figured millitary command responsibilites were split between Prowl and Jazz with Prowl heading the strategy/planning tasks and Jazz heading the personell/field command tasks.


With the decepticons I figured it was Megs #1, Starscream and Soundwave #2a and #2b with Starscream essentially doing Jazz's job and Soundwave essentially doing Prowl's job.

 

When di Bonaventura was on G4 during SDCC, he said that OP was 32 feet tall. Either he remembered incorrectly, or that's changed. But yeah -- no biggie at all.

We "know" the following:

- Director, producers, most of the principal actors (for human characters).
- The names of the robot characters.
- Peter Cullen.
- The alt modes of the 'Bots and most of the 'Cons.
- EARLY designs for some of the characters.
- Prototypes of toys for Starscream and Blackout.
- Current estimates of the heights of the Autobots -- maybe. (See above re: Prime's height.)

Many of these things could still change. These bits of early info don't reveal details about the plot, themes, characterization, or quality of acting in the movie. And NONE of them enable anyone to make declarations of the quality of the finished product 10-1/2 months in advance.

I was looking at some photos from the summer of 1985, and it looked like I was sitting a little funny in one photograph. Upon squinting at the photograph, it turns out I was sitting funny because there was Michael Bay, right there in the photo, raping me.

didn't they say BB was supposed to be 23 feet high? and the leaked model is way taller than 23 feet. Use the man in the pic as reference...if he is ~6' (average american man) than BB is well over 20'.

Honestly I don't care if BB is taller than Jazz. But I def heard prime was gonna be 35 feet or taller. Maybe Bay fucked up because there is no way a huge semi robot is only 2 feet taller than a pick up truck robot.

 

Awesome, Jazz can talk to Prime's crotch. Bumblebee has lost all of his original qualitities... He isn't a bug, so his name is useless. He isn't the smallest (making him small like a bug?) Really, the only thing to him is that he's yellow. Really, it would've made more sense to have used Sunstreaker instead.

Sounds good to me. Though, Jazz does seem a little small. He is only 3 feet taller than a south american terror bird (don't worry they're extinct!). I suppose thats the price you pay for being a sports car. ( Pontiacs are small aren't they?).
I think Jazz and Bumblebee should be at least the same height, or the latter should really be smaller due to the fact he is younger.

Then again Transformers history will be rewritten slightly.

Wolverine is short. And he kicks ass. I can see Jazz doing the same. He was always more skill and grooviness than brute force anyways, so maybe it'll be an excuse for some obscenely ridiculous Yoda-lightsaber-fighting-like moves.

 

Mass is not exactly an SI-only concept though...

 

Perhaps they just wanted a Wolverine-like TF, that's why he's shorty.
