My dad used to read me "Walter the Farting Dog" every summer when we went camping.

More recently, "Go the F*ck to Sleep" is entertaining.

 

Ha Ha Ha I love that one.

 

My friends and I found that book in a shop in town a while back, and we laughed our asses off reading it.

 

I don't hate you. It wasn't meant to hurt your feelings, I am sorry if you took it as me hating you.

I laughed my ass off the first time I read that XD

And.... erm. Looking back on my childhood, I read some pretty un-funny books... I remember reading The Jungle at a fairly early age for fun. (In case you didn't know, that book is about the meat-packing industry in the early 1900's and how gross it was)

I loved classic books- when I watched Peter Pan and Alice in Wonderland I got the books soon afterwards. Let's just say Alice in Wonderland scared the shit out of me a little bit.

 

The Percy Jackson series is really funny. Every character is witty and the comedic timing is perfect. If Joss Whedon wrote a book series, I think it would be similar to this.

yeah. This is a great book to read in impersonations. Hell....I remember reading this book to a drunken friend in a Dr.Claw voice. It was fun. 

 

I don't think I've ever read any particularly funny books, especially children's books. Which is odd, considering me is me. I've sniggered at reading some of my own stuff but that's probably considered bad form.
I just don't seem to pick funny books to read, even today. The most funny I've read is likely the Red Dwarf novels, and even then they're nowhere near as funny as the actual telly show. Apart from that maybe 'Bachelor Boys: The Young Ones Book' has given me most chuckles. But nothing that can be considered children's books, or overly funny.

When I was a kid my favourite books were the Willard Price Adventure book series. Found a copy of Lion Adventure in the school library in the early 1980s that I read over and over and then went and collected my own set. Still got them, although they whiff a bit now since as some are copies from the 50s and 60s. I credit those books with getting me interested in writing.

I wish I could find it. The camper sprung a leak and we had to move everything to the top bunk to prevent our things from getting soaked. Too much stuff up there to get to anything.
