If SW is released in the US, the other tapes will be included to justify the price. (Because it won't be cheap)

 

I wasn't referring to you, or anyone else here, specifically   It was just a gripe I felt like getting off my chest when I saw another discussion about price that didn't include shipping specification. Through robotkingdom this figure cost me $160, then shipping came in addition to that to a total of $197.  

Yeah I hope we get some real details today. Still a lot of unanswered questions:
1. color of his eyes
2. gimmicks (electronics?)
3. laserbeak gimmick
4. future cassette plans
5. frumble details
6. ravage details
7. "mystery accessory"
8. size
(9. lightpost mode   )

 

  Thing is, that FT-02 Soundwave still really isn't bad looking at all - it's not like it's suddenly a total clunker next to the official MP. Official Lazerbeak's in a class of his own, mind. But wouldnt' be surprised to hear there's people who still buy FT-02 and MP Soundwave.

 

7 is what people have called out. When the HQ version of the pic came out you could see it is a hand piece. Then someone posted a pic of the hand piece in the G1 cartoon. Its just a hand weapon al la Sideswipes's piledrivers, Prime's ax and Meg's morning star.

i know many ppl blame us G1 fans but damn...never see that much hype and excitement in the forums when a new masterpiece figure is about to be released...love is in the air! lol

Prime and Megs may be "the most iconic" but in the fandom Soundwave is the most popular character by far. (my opinion but I think it is a solid one   )

I'm so preordering this! I need it shipped to Ireland, does anyone know the best place to order it from? Considering price including international shipping, and also I would like to try and avoid import tax so if any of the companies mark items as gifts it would help. Any help/info would be greatly appreciated.

 

I'm in Norway, and robotkingdom is always cheapest for me for japanese releases. They mark it down if requested as well.

I think you're right, heck even my wife said that I definitely have to get MP Soundwave when I showed her the colour pic yesterday. And she's normally rather ambivalent when it comes to my TF collecting.

 

That's what I was trying to say all the time during the "they will never do soundwave" days. He's one of maybe 5 ICONIC characters that even people who aren't fans know something about. There are loads of other popular characters, but there's a big difference between that and truly iconic. It would just be moronic not to do him in the MP line.

Very true, everyone remembers the cassette player transformer, even if they do get the name wrong (I can't remember how many people have called him Shockwave  ). Soundwave's major fault is that most of the time, people associate him too much with the outdated tape deck.

 

It's the first Masterpeice toy that I'm not waiting for a US release to own.

It's actually kind of amusing that people are somewhat surprised there was such a demand for an MP Soundwave in the first place. He is, after all, an iconic character that even non-Transformer fans would be able to recognize.
