Takara must have paid a huge sum for the license with Lambor

I bet it's not as much as you are thinking it would be, I'm sure Hasbro/Takara will take advantage of dealing with the VW Group and get us other licensed vehicles.

What concerns me is that the basic principle with licensed vehicles is the same as the Binaltech line; once a certain license [for example, Nissan] expires, there can't be any other releases, not even re-releases, without purchasing the license again.

Kind of like how at the tail end of Binaltech we only got repaints of Subaru, Mazda and Honda because the other licenses had expired.

I'm very hyped for MP-12, but I gotta say I wish they wouldn't overcomplicate MP transformations sometimes. The legs/rear of the Countach do seem to have too much going on, and the rear car lights sitting on top of the feet aren't accurate to anything and will probably mean more parts to fiddle/break. Sometimes simple is best.

On the plus side at least they haven't tried to force a Sunstreaker in there too!

With the Lamborghini license I can see why they chose Sideswipe for their first mini-MP car; I imagine there will be a lot of appeal beyond MP collectors and even outside of TF fans altogether, and if Sideswipe sells well more season 1 Autobot cars will surely follow... *fingers crossed*

You know, my first reaction was to call you a nitpicker. ;)  But after seeing those pics... I'm not too fussed about height differences, but it would be nice if they'd be able to incorporate some of the differences... somehow.

Haha, if your instincts are right, I'm enough of a nitpicker to spot these sorts of things and let them slide; I'd inly just remembered quickly rading that entry some months ago. I mean, ultimately, the whole character model is, well, shrunk. So why worry? ;)  Like I said for anyone thinking MP-12 is too short against MP-10, anyone who's considered too tall can just have their legs dynamically posed to look a bit shorter, same for MP-12A, if that suits anyone.

Or just keep Henkei Red Alert. :)

But yeah, I do the whole "dynamic posing" to make characters seem shorter. TF Prime Arcee's a good example of this.

Maybe we'll get a third party "chest upgrade" for MP Sideswipe so he looks more like the cartoon model. I'd probably buy it.

That is probably why as soon as they got the license they made the repaints that fit with the license.

I checked and the price shipped to the US is 77 a piece. Compared to BBTS of 84 a piece. 7 bucks per figure. Probably stick with BBTS since its only 7 and BBTS will fix my problems easier since they are in the US.

You forgot to add shipping from BBTS to the total though so pry another $10 on top of that.

I was thinking... If they made an MP VW Bumblebee, how big would it be? Same size as Sideswipe or smaller? I assume smaller in but would Takara really make an MP figure that small?

Another couple things to factor in with RK

    * They tend to underdeclare so there is no customs charge. BBTS always declares full value
    * The $21.11 shipping includes tracking and for me its always been fast

Us in the US don't have to worry about customs charges :)

For me the way to go is BBTS only if you have a POL going.

Most likely will be slightly smaller than Sideswipe since they have decided to be more on scale for future MP figures.
