It's not as big a problem as it used to be. That's not what I was getting at though. There are people who insist that Windows isn't capable of decent color period, not just in four color printing through a PostScript device. Any work in art or design of any kind, even if it's just web design, ALL has to be done on a Mac or you're just not worth anything as an artist or designer. Some go as far as to say that Adobe shouldn't even bother making a Windows version of Photoshop. There's no justification for that attitude when the work is only going to be viewed on RGB monitors or can be sent to a printer that is using a Mac. THAT is either snobbery, or just plain ignorance and misinformation. Maybe some of both.

Um, but that's all beside the point. The point is that most people's color is horribly uncalibrated and they don't even know it. Hence why so many would see Prime's blue patches as black. In this case, that IS the issue :(

Okay I'm going to take a stab at THEORETICALLY DESCRIBING the transformation because when I was about 11 I came up with "Optimus's brother" who was a long nose type truck. (no I'm not claiming to have invented Ultra Magnus, just some stupid idea when I was a kid)

(wow, serindipity! My original truck idea was brown/tan also)

Okay, first the nose of the truck splits sliding aft along the truck and even with the cab, then it slides up about 6' making the front axle even with the window line. the top of the hood folds forward at the grill making it the for arm the axle/wheel/fender are the shoulder. (nicely enough the pipes are right at the inboard shoulder also and can slide out to the outboard if that's your preference)

The chasis area where the fuel tanks are mounted rotate down to become the hips, the firewall area of the truck has a false 'G1' style grill althogh the front bumper 'could' slide back to become the 'belt' as a homage to G1

the sleeper cab I'm still working on, but I'd like to use the windows as the knees, have the rear wheels on the thighs and the lower legs be the body of the sleeper.

Now my "Optimus's brother" Concept had a different transformation and a different look at the end (since a long nose truck was a big difference from Optimus back then)

Nose becomes arms cab becomes chest, window is more one piece wrap around then two distict panes. Legs pretty much a G1 Op copy. The sleeper canopy splits forming shoulder pads around the head.

I might have come up with a name for him, but it was probably terrible. Ultimately he looked like a linebacker Optimus clone.

I do remeber that his torso was basically a segmented cylinder because I was inspired by Colosus from the X-men

It's been 25 years, perhaps I will break out the pencils.

    EDIT: done

in all honesty, i was kinda hoping for a prime done in this style

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_y7zuP787vY&search=transformer

i mean, its different. but even as a long-nosed truck, it manages to have the truck's grill as well as two wondow-like segments on the actual chest. plus, as far as i'm concerned, the stylization of this one reminds me more of the leaked bumblebee robot shots i've seen.

G2 prime doesnt seem to fit in with the same asthetics, unless they plan on doing a major resculpt.

i also really really like this design by prowler974

anyways, i'm anxious to see how the movie robot mode looks.

Curious about this old titbit. Should we now assume that the pics that were seen at SDCC were fakes? Now the movie Prime's design has been leaked, I'd be hard pressed to see it as having a "similar transformation to Laser Prime."

To those who saw the pics, did what you saw then bear any resemblance to the leaked images or was the guy, in retrospect, BSing?

Man I hope this is true. I guess all we can do is cross our fingers until we get solid confirmation in the form of pictures.

...I think this post has been stuck in the system since 2007 and only now just popped up.

    This post takes back..wayyy back.

Don't blame you, I just want 1 also. I never buy multiples. Just surprised the limit is 2....going by that it gives me hope that there will be enough to go around.
Yea the hands remind me of Master Grade 3.0 hands...the irony in all this is that Yamato's 1/48 VF-1 designer was a Bandai MG kit designer

Speaking of Focker...on the bottom left...Focker is that you?! *pic from Loopaza Mega Store*

Hell yea! Plus it's a Macross Christmas like in the TV series minus a blown up SDF-1!
