MP-12: Interesting how the vehicle mode is going to be painted as opposed to being molded in red plastic.

It'll probably be molded in red plastic painted red, like MP-10 is.

painted makes more sense as they will be painting the plastic many different colors for the other characters....

Haha, that is the double edged sword of cartoon accuracy, when it comes to the G1 cartoon being only so accurate. ;)

That would be the ideal situation for me, after all, as far as the plastic being red, why not? It would really help hide or blend the transformation lines, though that sort of thing tends out a bit more on metallic paintjobs, as with the great deco for HA Jazz.

Race master looks pretty snazzy but ugh. That mold.. can't believe they are charging so much for those too..

The Mudslinger one looks better than the Hasbro one deco wise but again ugh.. Worst commander figure from the line.

I guess the silver lining with these releases is that it gives Japanese fans a chance to grab them for Iron Army and any other future add-ons.

73 dollars? Heh. I paid less than 15 for EVERY PCC! I got every last one on clearance. Let's hope there's Marshall's in Japan because I don't see these flying off their shelves either.

Your suspicions are probably true enough, the thing is the Takara PCCs are likely to be limited in quantity like the ther United figures released this year, maybe more so.

I couldn't bring myself to buy the Dinobot set, even on clearance. Styracosaurus, Euplocephalus, Pachycephalosaurus, Parasaurolophus, and Dimetrodon just don't seem like plausible choices for an altmode for a team of commando autobots.

Styracosaurus and euplocephalus both are defensive animals, not built for offense.

Pachycephalosaurus has an armored head, but that's it. Very weak jaw (typical of plant eaters).

Parasaurolophus is a "duckbill" which has no known offensive or defensive capabilities. (They are thought to defend themselves by living in large numbers)

and finally Dimetrodon... not even a dinosaur... but a slow-moving, awkwardly built precursor to mammals (yes, that's right, it's your great-great-great-great-great-great x 10X10 grandmother!). It's enormous head, large sail, and very small legs lead many scientists to believe it was an ambush predator, using it's sail to quickly warm up or cool down it's body temp before attacking prey scurrying for shade or warmth.............

compare that to the "True" Dinobots...
Grimlock - T-rex... 3rd largest terrestrial carnivore in history. (Spinosaurus and Giganotosaurus were larger)
Slag - Triceratops... largest, and best equipped of the horned dinosaurs... horns on it's head, with keratin sheaths, would have been 4 to 6 ft long!
Sludge - Apatosaurus... as an adult, had no predators, but even so, it's whip-like tail and crushing legs would make short work of any would-be predator.
Snarl - Stegosaurus... tail spikes, plates, and the brain smaller than a walnut put in charge!
Swoop - Pteranodon... not a dinosaur, but a marvel of natural avionics. The physical structures used to create a pterosaur's wings have never before nor since been seen in nature. The wings were almost like carbon fiber hang-gliders.
