Looks good. Hopefully this means that we'll get a toy of him in at least the Generations line. Though I'm still hoping we get the Prime design in toy-form at some point too.

I'm sure that's the point others are trying to make. This is FoC's would-be Bombshell if they could use the name again. I don't think anybody is trying to say that this Hardshell is the continuation of G1 Bombshell's story, just that he's meant to be this game's take on the Bombshell character.

I kinda think they released this photo because of the new episode coming of Transformers Prime. It makes sense and kinda good timing to show off a new character since they are suposed to be alligned.

Yeah, thats what I mean. Theres alot of debate among board members that Prime and Exodus/WFC/FOC are not in direct continuity. Hasbro might have done this to help clear a little bit. That doesn't mean that we'll still won't debate it, because to many people thats not enough to prove they are. For the record, I do believe they are in direct continuity with one another

 

You know what Hasbroken will do is do a toy for Kickback and Shrapnel.... Yeah Bombshell won't make it because KEEPING GROUPS together seems to be beyond them these days.

You might have had a point if Hasbro hadn't reissued the Insecticons. And named them Hardshell, Kickback, and Sharp shot. Or made a robot hero called Hardshell. All explicitly the G1 Insecticon rhinoceros beetle. So your protest is invalid.


Also the High Moon cybertron games are a general origin for the brand. And could be applied to Prime, G1, or even the movie. As 60% of the story elements are from G1 (the comics mostly), the rest are from the movie. So any figure could be a classics figure.

 

The G1 reissue Bombshell was named Hardshell. I didn't see anyone cry over that.....

Is it me or is he looking more like fansproject not bombshell then g1 bombshell. Its the head and purple chest that sets it off for me.

Hasbro hasn't had the rights to Bombshell in ages. They used Hardshell the last time they released the Insecticons in Universe Classics, along with calling Shrapnel "Sharpshot". Not any different than Octane/Tankor.

 

I pretty sure I know why, but could someone please remind me again why Bomshell was renamed Hardshell?

 

Either trademark loss, or my random theory that it's too inappropriate because it's related sex symbols.
