Has anyone ordered or received these yet? I haven't owned a Valk since Jetfire, and these seem reasonably priced, with accessories and a stand!

I'll probably wait until they're sold individually (if ever), but they seem worth picking up.

Oh, and just how big are they? compared to, let's say, Cybertron Soundwave?

They will be about half the size of Jetfire. The Jetfire mould is a 1/55 scale, so the 1/100 scale would be about half. As far as quality goes? Well, they're made by Toynami... which in the Macross fanbase is right up there with the plague, being hit in the nuts with a baseball bat, and tom cruise. My advice, avoid. Save your money for a Yamato 1/48 (yes they're expensive as hell but they are SO FREAKIN worth it). *gets down off his soapbox*

I'll bet no one is terribly surprised by that little rant. Yammies all the way! :lol

    That's useful info. Thanks!

Here are some hi res pics of the Toynami toy. For 20 bucks they seem fairly nice.

Really they're no Yamato but for $20-$30 bucks you get what you pay for.

True, but if you get all three you can line them up in formation in plane mode without having to skip rent next month :p

I've been looking at the Yamato Valks on BBTS, and the two that caught my eye were the 1/48 stealth type (without the armor, looks sweet) and the 1/60 vf-0s.
They're pricey, but they look so good! :cry

They've been talking about them over at Macross World. If I remember the discussion right, the quality on the Valks is actually pretty decent, but the stands they come with suck.

I just wish they were available individually, instead of in three packs. I only want a Max 1J, and the armor for it. (Armor's going to be available later.)

I've axed my Alternator/Binaltech collection to feed my Yamato hunger.

With my Max, Kakizaki, and VF-0A coming in I need the funds.

Hmmm, I will pass them up because I have not been impressed by the QC of Toynami's products. E.g. their previous Macross mecha. However to be fair, I heard that their Voltron was decent.

I've got them on order but won't have until the end of the month, i'll probably post about them then if somebody doesent beat me to it.

Comparing them to the Yamato stuff is a bit pointless IMO, its not like a small $20 toy is the same market as an enormus $120 rich man collectors piece.

You haven't felt the lure of the sirens known as Yammies... you don't know the power of the Yamato line! Seriously, these things are superior by far to anything else on the market. I was originally going to get one... and 8 months later... I have nine...

But yeah, you're right, it is kind of pointless to compare a $20 toy to a $150 toy.

    Yeah, I'm pretty much Yamato's b*tch.

My 1/100 set of 3 came in from JRS Toyworld this morning and they absolutely rock! I love the fact that they shrunk down the awsomeness of the 1/48 figures into such a small scale.

Now to wait for wave 2 and the armor sets when they are released.
