I've got the original, vintage one. Less articulated and all that, but the original is huge and awesome. Can't speak for this one for that reason.
Let me add to the list of those who don't like the modern version...I don't own it but from what collectors in my country is complaining...its kind of fragil i.e. more of a display piece.
Yeah, that's true of all the CMs Brave stuff. They're incredibly well done but they aren't meant for play. If you want ones to play with or handle a lot, the vintage ones hold together far better.
Received my J-Decker and Super Build Tiger tonight... J-Decker : wow, totally love it. Simple but effective transformation for both units, plus they have sounds and lights. Pretty cool. That could have been a real Transformer (reminds me of Star Convoy). Super Build Tiger : individual vehicles are ok, individual bots are disapointing, but the combined form is cool despite the lack of articulation. Not my favorite but still unique. Waiting for my Battle Bomber now...
Congrats unafraid. You got some nice pieces there. Opened that JDecker in the middle of the night and had no idea that police car made noise until I jumped 50ft in the air
Never heard anything from that ebay dude, guess it's time to shoot him an email. If anyone want's MP Exkizer , Im selling mine MIB minty complete for 70$. Hurry before someone else gets it http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=220014447641&ssPageName=STRK:MESE:IT&ih=012
Waka Waka! Original Goldy w/ GFG, using Broken Phantom as a stand, otherwise it would fall over Scanner, turn into Light!!! And this is my holy grail: Kotobukya(sp?) Great Baan Gaan......love the style, hate the assembly needed, but would gladly pay 70 for an already assembled version.
Wow, that Great Baan Gaan looks awesome! How big is it and what is it made up of - any diecast content?
I would love to go for that offer CM, but I'm really more interested in the Great Exkizer set, but I have yet to see it
Received my Battle Bomber set on Friday. Wow. It tops Super Guardian so far. 4 triplechanging trains/bots/beasts? Take that Predawimp. I love how the individual toys are so G1-ish, but how the combined form is so much more evolved. Solid and all integrated. And it even has sounds (they remind me of the ones on G2 Meg).
A favor for all the Brave fans here. Quite some time ago, the producer of the GaoGaiGar DVDs, Sean Molyneaux, agreed to let me e-mail him an interview. But because I've never done interviews before, and because I was worried about bothering him, I never really got around to it. However, since the DVDs will be showing up soon, I figured I may as well get some advanced information, even if it isn't that far in advance. My original interview had rediculously long questions, so I tried to make it more like a standard online interview. Anyone have any recommendations/edits/additions? How did this series come under Media Blasters’ consideration? Is there any possibility of pushing GaoGaiGar beyond DVDs, such as a toyline, perhaps by Hasbro or Bandai, and maybe an airing on Toonami or G4’s Action Blast? Can we expect any GaoGaiGar merchandise down the road, such as PVCs, soundtracks, art books, or the Japanese manga releases? What can we expect from the English dub? Any plans to translate the various songs, such as the opening, to English? What are the odds of seeing releases of the other ‘Brave’ shows? Can we expect any extras on the DVD releases? Is there any possibility of releasing GaoGaiGar: Blockaded Numbers for the Playstation, or at least having the cut scenes as extras on the DVDs? Are there any plans to release the OAV sequel, GaoGaiGar Final, at this time? Any final comments for GaoGaiGar and ‘Brave’ fans?
Sounds good to me... I don't know much about the Brave series myself so any new info will be good info!
Those are some nice questions Sprocket, wish I could but never really watched the show, just characters & bios mainly. Sol Fury and ams probably have a few good questions that would go in there, hope they see your post. Was thinking you may want to edit or delete the 2nd question, since there's a few GGG's toys out Maybe you can ask him a few personal questions so he'll feel interesting and be inspired to chat it up. Like how did he get into the bizz? What's his favorite character? Or Does he have any Brave toys? Did he ever not get along with any other voice actors? Or what was his most embarrasing blooper? etc .. Oh and in your merchandise question, maybe squeaze the Brave MP's in there. Or seperataly ask , and see if he knows any good/bad news on them. (really hoping they keep going strong with those) Just throwin a few ideas at ya to hopefully get the gears turning a little more
Yah, I posted up a couple of suggestions over at Perfect Cannon, but you might want to ask if they do bring over GGG Final which of the two they'd bring over, the original unedited one or the TV version (12 20min episodes VS 7 30 and 1 hour long finale, the TV version moved a few bits around though so the OVA is the proper version of the saga). I think you have most of the bases covered, though. Perhaps ask him what he personally feels is one of the most exciting elements of the project in his opinion.
Hmmm, CM makes very beautiful stuff but IMO they are not durable as compared to Hasbro/TakaraTomy's MP Optimus Prime - know what I mean?
