Let's face it, if they try to come up with some Deus Ex Machina to revive everybodies favorites, it's going to be silly by even sci-fi/fantasy standards. Let Megatron and the others stay dead and revitalize the series with some some new or unused characters. I'm a G1 fan and I watched a lot of favorite characters get it in the 86' movies. Despite that, I would be pissed to seeing season 3 of G1 go back to all the old characters; and yes, I'm letting the infamous editing mistakes slide!
I love Megatron, but he needs to stay dead. I don't care if hes the only Decepticon leader the public will recognize (besides maybe Galvatron) bringing him back AGAIN would seem just stupid now. TF4 can continue without him being at the forefront. Would it be good for him to be in a flashback of some kind? Sure, but he needs to stay down for now.
Yep and it was dumb. By that logic Jazz, Arcee, Ironhide, Starscream, Soundwave, Que/Dino, Shockwave, Wheelie, Brains and Sentinel Prime will all come back from the dead now.
I didn't say it was a good idea. But hey, why not, let's make death a revolving door for the Cybertronians and turn their conflict into an endless parade of misery they are powerless to escape, even in death, and one that brings ruin to every place they touch as a result.
I wouldn't mind them bringing back Megatron as a new character. Could easily say that when the one on Earth was killed, there was a Decepticon civil war with the most brutal taking the name of Megatron for himself. It's no different than passing the title of Prime.
Ther are so many more characters to play with though: Overlord; He acts like a crazy Roman emperor and likes bots tearing themselves apart for his amusement. Straxus; an ignorant Stalin-like tyrant or Grimlock if he was evil. There's a whole group of characters to bring in! At one point Megs was a new character to you and you found you liked him. Trust me, change can be good!
Yeah, but season 3 was famous for accidently putting in characters out of continuity, like I said, I can let that slide.
I agree whole-heartedly. But Hasbro logic states that at all times there must be: Megatron, Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, other characters. So, expect some form of Megatron. And if 2012 is the year of Beast Era Megatron, what better way than to bring in David Kaye to voice him?
Megs was just sad in the last movie and Shockwave was total ass without his mega-worm to back him up.
I loved Beast Wars, but that's a pipe dream! If they did it on prehistoric Earth, there wouldn't be any humans to interact with. Bay is good with directing people, but I think he has trouble with digital actors, that's why he focuses on humans in his films, I think!
Agreed. heck, if Megatron was not important for Hasbro and the studio, then they would had kept him dead in ROTF and guess what happened? He returned!
I'm not saying base it in Beast Wars, but there's nothing stopping them from using the VA, and possibly a Cybertronian beast for the new Megatron. Show him to be more calculating, brutal, and effective than his predecessor and watch the sparks fly. If the original didn't take an Earth based mode until movie 3, there's no reason this one has to take one either for a bit. Have him be a stylized TM2 dragon. Instant win on all sides.
I agree, he had a good enough role without being the main villain, I liked that. I'm just saying that to bring him back for a second time would be really stupid, even though I like Movie-verse Megs
