I suspect he's going to be somewhere around that size. However, MP rodimus in hotrod mode is too big to scale with mp10 though. In rodimus mode he's perfectly in scale though.

I personally want him to be alternity sized because the alt mode is important to me, and my wallet would appreciate it.

MP-01 goes so well with alternators.. This guy needs to go well with a line and that line so far is alternity.. Which sucks since currently we've got a bunch of optimuses, some megatrons, bee and cliff, and the seekers..
Aside from bee and cliff the rest don't seem like they'd interact with op's trailer. :)

This version seems to be more in scale with the old Alternators than the generations deluxe figures.

Not really per the "official" g1 size chart the car bots should be up to his abs.
The minibots should be about up to his knee.

Oddly I can't find a good group shot from the cartoons on the net.. Except this one:

Agree but i still don't wish to see MP Sideswipe to be the size of Alternator

i'm sorry if it's been asked allready but is the leg cracks issue only on one particular figure or is it a production fault on all mp-10 figures ?

I've messed with mine like crazy and have had no cracks in my figure's legs.

It might have just been one that got missed during QC checks.

Dont write off a toy unless you have spent time with it? Well in fact I have being that my freind now has had it for a few days and we have compared his MP-10 with my MP-01. Here's just my view on the comparisons between the 2. Well there is no comparison in my book. MP-10 is just that: A toy not like MP-01 who is more then a toy he is for the collector who wants to put him in a glass case to admire him. MP-10 is for the person who likes to play with him when he wants. I will take diecast over plastic anytime and thats what makes MP-01 so much more a collectable. Yes MP-10 has more detail here and there, has a trailer, and on and on. But for me thats where the comparision ends. To me Takara took the cheap route with MP-10. They could have made him the same height as MP-01, used the same amount of diecast and incorperated the same fun features such as light up matrix ect as they did on MP-01. But no they didnt. Instead they jacked up the price on a figure who is much shorter and has no fun features or barely any diecast to speak of. Now if they would have did all these things I speak of then yes I would have thought about picking one up. Give me my MP-01 any day. And for those that say MP-10 looks more like the cartoon version of Prime? Your not watching the same cartoons as I am then. The only thing MP-10 has over MP-01 is the head sculpt which is a tad better then MP-01. Why couldnt Takara just make a different Masterpeice instead of another Prime? Dont make sense to me and MP-10 is not worth the price he is going for not by a long shot. The only reason my freind got MP-10 is because he couldnt get MP-01 and as long as hes happy with his Optimus the better, thats all that matters. But to say MP-10 is better then MP-01 is a joke. The true Masterpeice is MP-01 and all MP-10 is is a cheap carbon copy.

How come everyone has to conform to one opinion that one is better than the other?
Can we not have our own?

I love messing with my primes.. That being said I prefer to mess with Mp-10 because it's a more fun transformation. With respect to me as a collector, I love displaying my primes.. Why lis Mp-01 superior when to me alt mode is important and mp10 nails it?

I don't care you like Mp-01 better.. that's awesome, glad you've got what you like.

Takara has stated that they redid Optimus because that scale is the new scale of masterpieces they are looking to keep things scaled to.. That's the reason, because Mp-01 didn't look good standing next to any other masterpiece outside of megatron.

I'd hate to say that material has nothing to do with collectability.

You say he has no fun features, and point to the chest matrix (which in my case I took the battery out of my mp-01 to keep that feature working), and hence never use.. But then they have an added trailer and the neat flip out gun and such.. So it's kind of a skewed perspective.

Again.. you can Love MP-01.. Like it better than MP-10.. To each there own.
    I just don't think it's fair to say one can't admire MP-10 and that's exclusive to MP-01..
There's features that are going to draw collectors to one or the other or both. So expressing such a strong opinion that makes it sound like anyone who don't have an MP-01 and instead likes MP-10 is crazy as MP-10 is a joke feels like saying that anyone that has an opinion that doesn't agree with your opinion is wrong.
Is it expensive.. yes.. It's not for everyone.. But everyone is entitled to their opinions.
    And opinions can't be wrong.

*edit* also do you know what a carbon copy is? Because there's nothing about MP-10 that's a carbon copy of MP-01..

Well to add someone elses view i think MP01 is a horrible figure and think MP10 is a true "masterpiece". Doesn't mean MP01 is a bad figure just that i dont like it, and vice versa for MP10.

I know comparisons are bound to be made but why does this thread always degenerate into a versus thread by people that don't even own the toy and have never handled one?

Seems like a lot of people are upset that they can't move it's faceplate as they pretend to speak as Optimus Prime as the toys gazes at the crappy stickers on it's forearm :lol

^ lol, when did prime have those com things out anyways? mp-10 gets it's own shelf in my toy room, mp-01 is with the other mps for now until the us version of mp-10 comes to replace it, then it will go somewhere off to the side in there instead

    That's my thoughts exactly.
I love aspects of both mp's.. I personally like Mp-10 better.. if you like mp-01 better.. good for you!

I think a someone hardcore arguing either way is an attempt to justify their own thoughts, or inability to own both and enjoy each prime for what they offer.

Over the years I've come to buy most Optimus figures without even realizing it. With that said, I have MP1 but still want MP10 and plan on buying it eventually. Seems more in-line with having a collectors' toy to play with. MP1 seemed to have the same premise but, but this is different and throws a bone back to the Diaclone play-style, which I am all for!

Question though, can Spike fit in MP10's chest in bot mode?

No, the matrix chamber takes up the space and "seat" sectionis formed by the arms in truck mode. When you do get it you'll love it, MP10 is probably the best MP yet imo.

Reading this thread so far, the pictures, and the takara interviews speaking of Convoy as a "one off expensive super playset" I'm actually saving money on the side for one.

Perhaps there will be a re-issue by the time I get the cash so I can get one with any flaws on the original fixed.

What flaws?  My MP-10 doesn't have any....

MP-04 on the other hand, was chipping like crazy straight out of the box.

In all fairness, a way of keeping the legs together without the trailer in alt-mode would be kinda nice. Some people have had some QC issues - happily not me. There was also a post way back when about Spike getting stuck in Roller. And the gun, while being nicely stowable, looks kinda crap IMO - fine for a standard gun, but not really show-accurate. Oh yeah, and no unnecessary gimmicks or needless die-cast - he's just a really solid, really-good-looking, really sturdy, really poseable (except for the iconic 'sitting-on-a-chair' look of course), in-scale-with-Classics-in-vehicle-mode, really-expensive, utterly awesome toy.

Really, this is pretty much the G1 Optimus Prime toy to have for the foreseeable future. I'm really glad I got him, even if he was so expensive.

I don't know what happened to my MP-10.. But my legs NEVER stayed together without the trailer.. However now they stay together like a champ.. I could take a pic of that.. I don't really know what happened though that made the change in his legs holding together..

I've never had a problem with my MP10's legs in truck mode, i just make sure the hip ratchets a in the right notch on the ratchet and they stay together fine. I have more trouble getting the arms aligned right than anything else
