I'll stick to the deluxe.. this one has WAY too much kibble on the arms and not enough parts on the legs. easy pass..

I'm loving this thing the more and more I see it. It also looks as if it's in scale with leader Ironhide. All the more reason for me to buy this gem.

Why is it that the more I see of this figure, the more I want it? Why does my brain hate me?

Oh, wow, he's larger than Jazz in car mode. With all the concern people had been expressing about Hasbro downscaling the whole line, I wasn't expecting him to be in scale. I'm sold!

Well not quite my friend. Jazz is still too big/Soundwave to small but the variance in scale is not as bad as first feared. The Mercedes should be bigger than the Pontiac Solstice but not by a huge amount, so Soundwave is still a little on the small side.

It's not like this line has ever been exact – for example, Leadfoot's Impala is slightly too small and, as you noted, Jazz's Solstice is a little too big. But in real life, the SLS is smaller than the Camero and larger than the Solstice, and that's what we've got here. From the way people were talking (and the size comparison to Deluxe Rodimus), I was fully expecting the Soundwave in alt mode to be smaller than Jazz. It's not, and that's close enough for me.

    Nice review as usual!
No way I can afford to get him but I'm not too terribly upset that I can't at this point. Maybe he would look good next to deluxe Bee and Jazz, though he'd still be way too big in Mercedes mode. I'm glad I do have Jazz though, who is far and away the gem of all the Human Alliance figures, and there have been quite a few good ones.

I like how you say "all the problems are just around here" motioning to half the robot. Thanks for the review, but overall I'm not upset that I couldn't get him. Those legs not only look off, but they also hurt functionality.

    Great review :thumb
I love the car mode, BEAUTIFUL! (btw it says SLS and AMG on the back, jst thought I'd let u know since u couldn see what it said)
Shame about the legs :(  they need to be 50% bigger and twice as thick cos it looks very thin and fragile as u said.
It was hilarious when you were trying to put Dylan on SW's hand :lol  those human alliance features are really stupid

    Once again, Great review !!

    Nice review as usual! :thumb

Did you try to do a size comparison with the Battle Blades Bumlebee figure? He seems to be on a good sacle with the Human Allience Soundwave.

This figure is... a hit and miss. So much is right, but dem legs... And little Patrick Dempsy is scary. More than Sandstorm's human dude. But how much was this?

Also, will the deluxe SW get a review? Maybe I'll change my opinion on it if there's a better review.

Something that was missed in the review is that the left forearm has the two discs that can be pulled up, so that he has two speakers as a weapon. Also, in the instructions, if you pull the seat away from the arm on the left forearm, there is a 3mm clip point that corresponds to Laserbeak's claw, so that you can clip him onto his forearm.

For the figure being on three points on each foot, he's surprisingly stable, moreso than Sideswipe. He is shorter than Jazz or Bumblebee, but he's only the second Decepticon in that size class Human Alliance, and my only quibble isn't about the legs, I just wish they had put clear plastic for his head so that he had clear optics. Overall, he's really a good addition to the collection for Human Alliance, and has enough mechports and poseability that he's a worthy successor to the Movie 1 and 2 iterations of him.

It sucks that all the extra kibble on his arms couldn't of been used to bulk his legs up a little...
