Harvesters are ridiculously easy with the particle beam rifle. You can take one out before it overheats. That gun nearly breaks the game. lol

I think at this point, I do want an ending that Shepard described: "Happy, married, little blue children."

Oh, I got the "Arrival" DLC today on 2 and played through that and got me thinking:
So, we are questioning about the relays going supernova in the end of 3, but after seeing how they touched on it in arrival, there may be a chance they didn't. The ones in 3 look like a more controlled explosion with a shockwave that affects the synthetics only. The one in Arrival looked too much like a destructive shockwave of flames and whatnot.

Wait, so the particle rifle is good? Forgive my random jumping in the thread, usually roll with either Javik/Liara or Liara/Garrus, maybe Javik/Garrus. Am an infiltrator, is the particle gun my best bet and I just am not realizing it?

Best in the game as far as I'm concerned. Level it all the way up and add a scope, you'll never use anything else. Its the best gun because you can spam fire all day long without stopping as long as you don't drain it down to zero (because the cool down takes forever).

I actually added even more ammo to it :lol

I think in the end it had 170 ammo, and almost never ran out. When you do have to reload it, its terrible though. It likes to not reload if you do ANYTHING during the reload animation.

I added one ammo and one damage enhancement. When that level 3 beam kicks in, everything dies.

Homophobes Slam EA With Thousands of Letters Over Same-Sex Romance

The past year has seen a great deal of discussion about the existence of same-sex romance options in EA and BioWare's Mass Effect franchise and their MMO Star Wars: The Old Republic.

One recent, particularly irrational anti-gay "family values" campaign has kicked off a wave of thousands of letters to EA disapproving of the addition of same-sex romance options to The Old Republic, reports GamesIndustry. The letters chide EA for being "pressured" into adding LGBT-friendly content and claim that the availability of options for players somehow forces homosexuality onto impressionable young children. One such example letter reads:

The overwhelming number of players on Star Wars games is children who do not need to be forced as a captured audience to participate in homosexual content. We ask that you please adhere to your long term policy of omitting and steering clear of this type of advocacy representation in your games. Please do not include LGBT content in Star Wars video games that will impact so many children.

    Thank you. Remember Sodom.

Aside from BioWare clearly having no such long standing policy — the Dragon Age franchise includes both male and female same-sex romance options, and the Mass Effect franchise has always included female same-sex romance — the letter-writer is also incorrect about The Old Republic being primarily marketed to or played by children.

Speaking with GamesIndustry, EA VP of Corporate Communications Jeff Brown accurately called out the letter-writing campaign, saying, "Every one of EA's games includes ESRB content descriptors so it's hard to believe anyone is surprised by the content. This isn't about protecting children, it's about political harassment." Brown also added:

EA has not been pressured by any groups to include LGBT characters in our games. However, we have met with LBGT groups and sponsored industry forums to discuss content and harassment of players in online forums. In short, we do put options for same-sex relationships in our games; we don't tolerate hate speech on our forums.

GamesIndustry also spoke with a representative from GLAAD (Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation), Matt Kane, about the letter-writing campaign. Kane confirmed that campaigns driven by hate are now generally outweighed by support from the LGBT community and allies, citing the recent brouhaha over Ellen DeGeneneres being selected as JC Penney's new spokeswoman as a recent example. Specifically regarding video games, he added:

A lot of game makers are realizing that in order to create a believable universe it has to be a universe that is very diverse, and in some ways it sort of reflects the make-up of the culture we live in as well. I think it's very logical that you'll start to see more LGBT characters appearing in games."

This is also not only a reflection of the culture, but also in part of their consumer base - at least a segment of their consumer base. Certainly Star Wars is a good example. EA listened to the people who were intending to purchase the game and saw that there was a real desire to see same-sex relationships included within the romantic options.

And the same-sex romance options in The Old Republic, which have still not actually yet been added to the game and have no set date for appearing, are just that: options. As are any and all romance options in the Mass Effect franchise. No player is forced to choose any particular partner for their player characters any more than they are forced to purchase the game.

EA may be the worst company in America, but in standing up for diversity and standing against hate speech, they're doing the right thing.

I'm confused when did a scifi game turn into a political game? I must have mis-read the
    discription.

    lol

Edit: Wow, I totally misread this thing as it being an argument about why there ISN'T the choice in games.

They are really going into all this worrying about stuff in Mass Effect, when the ending for 3 has more controversy than if you can have a same-sex romance? Skyrim had a same-sex thing, but they only left it to marriage. Remember when games focused on the story?

I do see what they are worried about. What happens when little Jimmy is playing the game and making a random choice and ending up with his Male-Shepard romancing the shuttle pilot. The controversy off that...

Well I guess people have moved passed raging about the ending to whatever else they didn't like in the game. I swear there's just no pleasing some people. Some folks gotta nitpick a thing to death just to end up feeling worse then you did before huh' have fun.

Oh gawd...I leveled it up to V today and gave it to me, Garrus and Javik. 23rd century ghost busters indeed. Once you learn to properly aim and let off right before the charge runs out, damn gun is a beast. I am actually considering dropping my sniper as well to just have this and really really fast power recharging.

Hmm, I guess the fact that ME3 has an 18 certificate (here in the UK anyway) has nothing to do with little Jimmy playing it. FOR GODS SAKE DO YOUR JOBS PARENTS!

Also technically same sex relationships haven't been present in the Mass Effect series since the beginning, ME only had a choice of Ashley (straight), Kaiden (straight) and Liara ('alien')

IIRC ME2 had more romance options but everyone was straight, or straight alien? Oohhh, but you could fool around with Kelly...

MASS EFFECT when one form of relationship isn't enough a Reaper grants you 3 choices. And remember games tell players to try new things...

    lmao.

See, that is where the problem lies, they don't seem to care! If they did, they wouldn't go out and let little Jimmy play stuff like GTA, Resident Evil, CoD, Battlefield, or yes, Mass Effect. Yet, if little Jimmy gets made fun of on the mic, the parent will all the sudden be concerned! "Don't call my kid names!" when the response to them should be, "don't let your kid play mature games!". It's a never-ending argument, that no one wins.
