I agree with those saying Black Widow would be very vulnerable in most fights - she needs a shield generator or something otherwise she'd get squashed,burned and maimed 10 times over.

It's not like she's fighting Batvillans here - this is the heavy stuff if it can Knock Iron Man on it's ass it's not something for a Gi Joe's Scarlet / Lara Croft / Joanna Dark Level fighter.

I always find it amusing to remember that Shield is sort of considered one of Spider-Man's 'villans' it helps keep them in context.

 

Hell, Hawkeye's in the same boat as Widow is.

 

Yes up to a point and that is true for the guys in the Humvees too - but the widow has minimal offensive capability Hawkeye can actually shoot with as much impact as Iron Man he just can't take as big a hit as Iron Man can. But then you have the same problem with banner and Captain America - Captain is super agile and has his shield to protect him from a lot. but would still be effected by area bombardment.

Thor is slightly vulnerable if removed from his hammer for to long and Banner in theory can be killed in human form is he can't transform before he dies of an injury he'd die like anyone else. He'd probably be ok if someone shot him in the arm but if someone shot him in the heart, upper spine or head it might be fatal still.

I guess I just think the like of Hawkeye and Widow would be best used for infiltration and spying and for defense of the grunts or strategic planning - the trouble has always been to many chiefs in the Avengers and not enough indians.

Oh and things I noticed - they try to not show cap in his Outfit so much in clear light (as they might know it looks bad in normal light). and they try to get his facepiece off asap.

Tony's still Tony - But is he safe around Widow without Pepper watching him ?

I agree the lack of War Machine is an obvious lack - perhaps there's an argument to be made to make a War Machine Movie and guest star Pepper in that. And I still like the idea of Iron Woman if Gwinny's up for it.

Tricky Universe to play in though especially when there's gaps in it like no Fantastic Four. and Spider-man is still in a gray area compared to the others.

I'd quite welcome a Doctor Strange, Luke Cage, or Black Panther Movie sometime - but the plot of those would be tricky to get right.

I wonder if Steel has scared Hollywood of making a Black Superhero movie ? - I don't see why after all Will Smith managed OK. Hard to say who'd make a good Luke Cage though right now.


Perhaps the sensible thing to do is an X-Men reboot.

 

It's already been proven that Banner can't die. As soon as a bullet would touch his skin, he'll turn into the Hulk. It's been done in the movies that last time I remember, in TIH, Bruce goes shoot himself in the head and as the trigger gets pulled he turns into the Hulk.

 

That was an alternate opening scene, didnt make it into the movie. In some comics banner/hulk can't be killed in others he can, it's unclear where the movie stands on this atm. I mean in WW Hulk sentry gave Hulk everything he had and Banner survived.

 

Yes it can be rewritten however they want it to to fit in whatever continuity they desire. They can have Reed Richards come up with the McGuffin Hulk Killing gun out of thin air. Like he does with half his gizmos. Heck the TV Hulk died from falling out of a helicopter.

I'm so excited for this movie that I already bought the official shirt for the movie featuring all the cast members it. I am definitely wearing it when I go see it.

 

While it's not showing at my local AMC, there is a Marvel Marathon screening near me. Now to get some friends to do it with me. Should be an experience.

 

I'll be having a Marvel week. Going to watch Iron Man Monday night, The Incredible Hulk Tuesday night, Iron Man 2 Wednesday night, Thor Thursday night, and Captain America Friday night before going to see the Avengers on Saturday the 5th..

I'm going to do the marathon myself, with my cousin. I'm going to have to travel like 60 miles out of my way, but we'll just stay the night at a hotel before coming back home again. Then we have plans of seeing it again on Saturday with the whole family. I think this movie is definitely going to reap the benefits of rewatchability!

 

We don't have a an AMC theater or even an IMAX theater anywhere near us. So if I were to go see the marathon I would have to travel a long way. I will definitely have my own marathon at my house before I go see it.
