    Yes.
Not everything needs to be shown on screen. We're just fortunate they bothered giving Ironhide one last tribute battle before he was offed. I wouldn't be surprised if Bumblebee would have gotten that battle with the Dreads scene were it not for them wanting Ironhide's death to mean something.

If there were ever any plans to show a scene of Prime finding/mourning Ironhide, it was probably cut because of the Twins getting cut. They were supposd to die in that same scene and so the aftermath would probably have shown them all and they may have cut it for those reasons.

All the same, these movies are not big on the mourning stuff. Prime's death in RotF felt flat for me because no one seemed very sad about it.

It was too a brief of a death scene, might have escaped prime's attention.

at least my attention towards the movie escaped during the last one hour or so of the movie...

Why? The audience doesn't need to see EVERYTHING.

I think he silently mourned. When Prime returned to Nest, look at his face, he seemed SO hurt by what was going on, that he was quiet, absorbing all that had just occurred in such a small amount of time.

Sentinels betrayal, his own guilt of bringing him back, and Ironhides death. They didn't need to have a funeral for him, there wasn't any time.As DPRIME said, we don't have to see EVERYTHING.

But then we would've been complaining that all he did was "drive past Ironhide's remains". We'd still be arguing about his lack of weeping and not shouting Ironhide's name to the heavens and having a five minute sequence devoted entirely to mourning Ironhide and whatnot. ;)  No matter what would've come of the scene, people would be complaining. Oh, fans, we so crazy!

But no, I get what you're saying. :)

Just some kind of acknowledgement would have been nice.

I think all it would take would be about 20 seconds: Prime arrives and tours the devastation at NEST base.. Then, as he's leaving, he catches sight of whats left of Ironhide. He walks over, kneels down, and scoops a few gears/bolts/broken metal into his hand. Camera zooms in to Optimus' face, which can only be described as shocked/confused. Then that confusion visibly becomes anger, and we see vengeance in Primes expression.

    My take anyways.

Ofcourse Optimus knew that Ironhide died, you can tell that by his expression in the NEST HQ, he can not just go around without one of his old best friend, then he would ask where is Ironhide?, and someone will say dead in a sad way.

I think what he did to Sentinel,Megatron and 17 other decepticons is enough of an indication of how he felt lol.
