I still don't believe that the Saints are glad they did this because they got a Super Bowl out of it which is what you claim. I just think its a stretch.

So the NFL is punishing my team for Locker Room bets among players -- excuse me but isn't the point of Football is that its an "extremely violent sport" to begin with like Boxing where Locker Room bets are made between staff and players or between players. Its why we like it to begin with. So if you don't like getting smacked by 2 "300 pound
players" maybe you should work at a grocery store. So no "The Betting" isn't the issue.

    And the Bills, too.

I could be mistaken, but my understanding is that the Jets pretty much didn't read that part of the contract. Apparently during negotiations the Rams and Jaguars were both aware of the money that would be owed to him should a trade go through.

I think you are missing the point. Yes, it is a violent sport, but with all the controversy over concussions and retired players "committing suide" and having dementia among many other issues that are linked with concussions, it is immoral to target players with the intent of hurting them and knocking them out of the game and getting a "prize" to do it. If the NFL doesn't discipline these actions then the NFL becomes the bad guy and they will be subject to many lawsuits from retired players.

Add on the fact that the Sean Payton and others in the Saints organization flat out lied to the commissioner that this was going on. That, in itself, is worse than the crime. :2c:

Oh I think you're missing the fact that these penalties are not about betting its about quashing any and all Lawsuits by former NFL players against the NFL. Keep an ear out and those lawsuits you knew were coming by former players against the NFL will all of a sudden vanish as if they had never been.

    * And the big cry baby that started this whole he said they said mess is former Saints player Jeremy Shockey

I'm not sure exactly what he is referring to exactly. He also said I was missing a point that I already explained that the NFL needs to be stern on these issues to "quash" those lawsuits, lol.

I think you're on to something there. The NFL should take a long, hard look into the Redskins organization.I'm sure there's a reason to fine them and take away draft picks. If for no other reason, just because they are the Redskins.

Really? They haven't done anything in how long? (making the playoffs wise) Way to kick a team when they are down.

You don't have to be a Cowboys fan to do that. I'm a Niners fan and I give my buddies that are 'Skins fans a hard time.

Well mainly because Dan Snyder is an idiot. :p

They've been the Redskins their entire existence, that warrants severe punishment.

I really cannot get excited for the Broncos this season. I mean, when your QB is this side of 40 and has a neck held together with chewing gum & baling wire, things don't look good.

    Guess I'll follow the Jets.

I'd love for Niners to get Brees if he wasn't already franchised. Alex Smith can only hope he's half as good as him.

Saints will not compete this season without their HC, and if they lowballed Brees on a long term contract it's gonna be a circus in NO for sure.

Also, I do feel for Tebow. After winning his first playoff game and declared the starter going into next season't training camp, he got unceremoniously kicked out of town. I hope he'll stick it to Elway one of these days by beating Denver as a Jet or some other team.

Don't forget Elway won his Superbowls at 37 and 38 years old, the first one after he ruptured his biceps tendon on this throwing arm.

Yes, but if someone hit his arm he wasn't in danger of DEATH.

It probably doesn't help that I've always held Peyton in the same regards I do Favre: None.
