Forgot there were new episodes, I started watching it back on sci-fi, I'll have to track the most recent episodes down as I was really enjoying the series.

I think I have watched up through season 3, and it appears Season 4 has all aired. Awesome Marathon Watching Time.

Beginning to wonder if I'm the only USA fan left???

Loved the S4 premiere...it's a two parter..so yeah, it left us hanging a bit...as usual Morgana is causing problems for Merlin...and he got a face full at the end of this ep...but we know he'll be back....for part 2. :D

Awwww...tonite's episode was an end to an era...and the beginning of a new one.. Long live King Authur.

Knew it was coming, even knew how it would happen, but dang..was hoping old Merlin would check for any 'bits' from a certain witch that would thwart his magic....bet he does from now on. Younger Merlin was seeing consequences he didn't count on... They didn't spend a lot of time on the funeral did they? On to crowning the new king!

Next week's epi looked pretty interesting too... Draaaggggoooonnnnnsss!! :thumb

Ah, episode 3. You've got a lot of good stuff coming, this series goes darker and more serious than ever before. The last three are amazingly cool.

Can't wait S!! I just rec'd my Season 3 DVD and they have all 3 seasons in WM now, so I'm thrilled to see some love for the series...outside the UK that is. :D

I tried not to read your spoilers...but I'm glad to hear that it's going darker and obviously more exciting due to that factor..as well as others, I'm sure.

    Again....Dragons!! :thumb

Indeed. That hump of the rather plodding two-part opener to series four might've put a lot of people off sticking with it though. I'd read somewhere that this series had been designed as a jumping on point for new viewers so making Arthur King a few episodes in makes a lot of sense, and really this series didn't require anyone to know a huge amount of what had gone before.
But yeah, once it hits episode three it really gets going full steam and there's probably only one other fairly weak episode in the series.

I think my only real disappointment come the end of this series is - and here's perhaps a spoiler for anyone that's not seen the entire series four yet -

that Merlin's lot in life hasn't changed at all. Sure he's now servant to the King rather than to a Prince, but it's not like he's really been promoted or had his standard of living or noticeable status within the kingdom recognised. He's still treated with almost zero respect (in fact he was fairly poorly treated by the Knights throughout this series). Sure Arthur has sought and even acted upon Merlin's council during this series and does occasionally offer a glimse of respect, but considering how often Merlin has publically (so I don't mean his behind the scenes magical assistance) willingly put his life on the line for Arthur and Camelot even though he's just a lowly servant you'd think he'd have been properly rewarded for that by now. Hopefully now Gwen's Queen she'll get Merlin a (slightly) better standing and recognised respect within the kingdom. I mean he tried to warn Arthur of Agravaine's upcoming betrayal even though he knew he'd catch shit from Arthur for it. That's some pretty deep loyalty and dedication to King and country right there. Would any of the Knights have had the balls to go to Arthur with that news if they'd known they might not be believed, and perhaps even banished or executed for just suggesting it? Merlin can still be a servant to Arthur, just not such an easily disregarded and disrespected one. That's my thought on it anyway.

Arthur does seem to blow hot and cold as to his relationship with Merlin, one minute calling him friend and the next treating him worse than any servant deserves...sometimes it seems in jest, but often he's still a "brat" or prat or whatever Merlin calls Arthur. The dragon episode where the knights were picking on Merlin did seem ugly at first..but I believe it was a bit of hazing....they did save him a plate of food. :p

Loved the Dragon episode...Aithusa! Can't wait to see that little white dragon become more involved with Merlin...and then this week's episode, where Agravaine almost convinces Arthur to go to war...well, it was a little slow and could have been passed over, but I'm hoping it's just building up to the ultimate betrayal by Agravaine and in turn Morgana.

Dang!! Poor Merlin made it to page 5 without comments... ahhh, show him some love people.

It's been a couple more eps since I last posted, but I really loved the last ep the best... I was worried that poor Gaius was going to be a goner--but then I remembered some of the British spoilers--and knew he'd be ok...both the actors for Merlin and Gaius are wonderful.. I almost cried along with Merlin when he was so certain that Gaius would never leave him without saying goodbye. Awwwwww.
I was correct in believing that Alitor would not turn on Merlin..but support him. Yay.
When will Morgana learn that being wicked doesn't always get you what you want? :lol

Most people here in England remember Richard Wilson only for his famous sitcom 'One Foot In the Grave' ('I don't belieeeeeeeeve it!') so they're generally surprised at seeing him do so well in the Gaius role, but he was also a serious actor too before doing OFITG.

I don't know that series...but I remember him from serious movie roles over the years, so I knew he was a good actor, but I didn't know he was a comedic one. Nice tidbit. Thanks.

As for this weeks' ep...wasn't one of the best imho...didn't care for the snake chick at all...bring back the dragons. :thumb

Poor Lancelot...and *gasp* Gwen!!! I kept waiting for Merlin to make everything 'magically' better...dang..Merlin and Gaius need to be more proactive in their defences against Morgana. Guess we have to wait a few episodes to see how this injustice can be repaired. :(

A little behind on my DVR viewing, but it was sad that the nice Princess had to be rejected.
The ever faithful Gwen was still trying to help Camelot..and Arthur...against Morgana again. Looks like next week's ep has Morgana's army finally getting back into Camelot...so some action will ensue, I'm hoping.

One thing...UK viewers, the upcoming preview said "The Finale"..not "Season Finale", is this the end of the series??? I hope not, they have more they could film, but was Merlin canceled?? :(

You're safe, mate. It looks like filming on the fifth series started this very month. :)

Apparently the show has been massively successful so unless it screws up royally I can't see it getting cancelled anytime soon.

Yay!! Thanks Gingerchris!! I was looking on the Syfy website for any info and that wasn't giving me much to go on..thanks for the link and the nice updates that were there...Queen Gwen huh? And the Dragons will play more of a more frequent part in Season 5, yay!! :thumb

Says they're going to FF a bit...if they do that, wondering if Merlin is going to start looking older or not?? Colin is far too young looking so guess they'll have to add some makeup. :)

Tonights ep did finally get a little more action, swords, fights and Morgana is back on the throne..for the moment. Hopefully Gwaine will win some food for Gaius.
Cracked up at Arthur being the 'simpleton' and Merlin was his master and keeper. Nice bit of 'historial romance' with Tristen and Isolde meeting up with A & M and hiding out for a bit while she was healing from wounds.
Finally, glad Merlin got to go home and see his mom and kinda knew Gwen would be there too. :thumb
Now...just have to wait for part 2.
