I did all that, and the company still can't get one product into their online store?

 

oh, I completely agree it would be so much better. I was just saying you know someone would complain, and maybe that's hasbro's motivation for not changing things, even though this way hasn't worked in the past.

I see Ebays put up a bunch of auctions for it. Some ending today. I was soo pissed at how they did this (Hasbro and the Collector's Club). I tried getting to both sites from work when the frenzy started (And had my Father-in-Law doing the same from my house). No such luck. I think I'm going do what I did with the 05 Botcon set and wait a few weeks when the sales cool down. You know they're going to redistribute it in 2007 like they did for Alt Track and Meister...because they're Hasbro and they know we'll come for like like mothes to a flame...

I just don't get why they can't SELL the damn thing in the store like every other figure in the line. And why the people at Hasbro CS can't put in an order when I call them. Why don't they have dedicated inventory software? Why? Why??!?!?! (Khaaaaaaaaan!)

But at least I can get a solid item run done in Diablo while waiting for the page to reload.

 

FWIW, my e-mail to Hasbro:

I have been a TF collector for many years, and have at times picked up additional Hasbro lines such as Star Wars, Stikfas, Xevoz and (currently) Sigma Six. I don't mind admitting that I have sent a healthy amount of my earnings to your company.

I appreciate the efforts that you have taken to make your comic con exclusives available to non-attendees for reasonable prices, but I have to say that I am thoroughly disgusted by the execution.

My fellow collectors and I were told weeks ago that SDCC Nemesis Prime would be available at your online store, 9:00am EST, July 20th. We were happy to be given the chance,and many made arrangements to be at or near a computer so we could obtain one.

I am currently teaching summer school. Thanfully my first class ends at 9:00, which gave me a window in which to order the toy. I had trouble getting on, which I expected. But once Idid, the figure was not available. OK, I figured. 9:00 was a best estimate, and it would be up soon. I proceded to teach my class, and occasionally would hit refresh while they were copying notes.

The class ended, and another came and went. Still nothing. However, by 10:30, the Star Wars exclusive figure was sold out, and the TF Collector's Club had put up their Prime's and sold them all. But still nothing on your site.

12:30 came and the school day ended. I shut down the computer and left, stopping to have a parent conference and a discussion with one of the teachers. I drove home, had lunch, went on my computer and, lo and behold, the figure is STILL not available, and no explanation has been provided.

I have friends online who have called you and gotten the runaround. The sense is no one knows what is going on. At least I had a job to keep me occupied - many have been sitting at their computers for hours waiting for you to put up the figure, or at least give us some answers.

How long are we to wait? How many more hours should someone have to sit and wait for you to do what you have promised? I know you are trying to help us, but often offering help and not coming through is much worse than not offering at all. And how many people who made plans to buy the figure will now miss out, because they can't afford to sit around?

I can tell you this much - there are many, many irritated fans right now, and they will still be annoyed with you when this is over, whether or not they manage to get the figure. The ball's in your court. I hope you find a way to make good.

What total crap! They couldn’t have sold out within the 30 seconds I was hitting my refresh button. What a total waste of my time today. Got up early and stayed at my computer all day for nothing! We got screwed!

well this makes me feel better. after seeing them "out of stock," I thought that in the 1.5 hours I was away from a computer today that they had gotten them in, and then were out of them. oh well. maybe they'll put out more down the line like they did with meister and tracks.

Congratulations to Hasbro for managing to piss off an entire fanbase by trying to give them what they wanted.

Didn't promise us Alt Nem on the shop? No big deal. Con exclusives are a disappointment we've learned to deal with.

Can't get to HTS at 9:00? It happens. No matter what time they were available, someone won't be able to be there.

Have them in stock and wasn't quick enough to get it? Understandable. Short supply. Just wasn't quick enough.

But to promise it at 9 am, and not have it in stock for five hours? That'll piss everyone off.

To have it in stock for 30 seconds, if at all, before being sold out. That'll piss off almost everyone.

Have some phone operators take orders, some not, and then suggest the phone orders won't be honored? Shitty business practice, pure and simple.

To not be ready for the flood of traffic? Pure incompetence.

Eh, I've been sitting here since nine (yes, folks, I am that pathetic, what can I say, I'm in love) hitting refresh every three to five minutes.

This was a crappy idea from start to finish and one can only hope that Hasbro will stop reaming us sideways over the barrel simply because they can.

And... maybe... they could offer their product in the stores instead of as bizarre "promotions". Just, y'know, a thought.

 

I've been at the computer since before 9:00am this morning...including rushing to work in under 3 minutes...just to get this.

Maybe my phone order will be honored, but I doubt it.

I shouldn't be surprised. This is just the latest "screw you" to Alternators fans who can't find anything...not on store shelves and not at the exclusive site selling them.

Well I guess the girlfriend and I will have to wait on Nem Prime and see how all this settles out.

I think Hasbro would have been smart to not post all the SDCC exclusives on the store website on the same day. SDCC runs for a few days, post a few each day and see how the traffic goes.
