I like.....I like. When they all nice and painted shall I make some fan-bios for 'em? Fan names?: 1st one: Duck Hunt(based off the Duck Foot Volley gun. see:http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/594/imagesca0c82yy.jpg/ ) Other one: Lay-Down(Sounds cool. ) About painting......I'm not much of a custom....maker thing......so sorry.
I rather like the looks of the red head on the green Tank-bot. I say keep him as is. As for the Blue one I say simply color match the arms to rest of him, though he looks fine without it.
Let's get down to what's really going on here. The Scattershot arm swap makes the figure look worse, mainly because the the hands show in 'tank' mode. The movie Brawl can work with RID Hightower's head (I've always liked that head sculpt) but it needs paint, something you already know. I guess the point I'm getting at is, what are you trying to accomplish? Did your Scattershot come without arms and you want to make him complete or do you want to make a new character or do you simply want tanks with lots of guns?
For the blue and yellow one, he could make use of the 5mm holes in his fists and insert a weapon on both hands (perhaps even doubling...on one hand put a weapon on both sides of the fist) to help mask the hands showing in tank mode. It doesn't even have to be a weapon, just something to insert that belongs on a tank like this that would mask the hands. Speaking of 5mm holes...I can't tell the size but if those are 5mm on his forearm and you're going for tank w/ a bunch of weapons, those need to be utilized (I'm assuming there's a hole on the other arm as well) for maximum destructivity.
yeah I got a big box of parts.. so I wanted to try some stuff.. I am not to fond of the arms. they seem to long..
