TFP seems more in continuity with the books than WFC. So far everything I've read in Exodus matches up almost perfectly to Prime; including Orion Pax becoming Optimus Prime before the war.

 

Well the game was in development before the aligned continuity was formed whereas the books were written with it in mind.

This is why I consider the books to be the true backstory.

 

My brother actually came up with an interesting theory, maybe after this Optimus goes and hangs with Starscream for a while

I had the same theory, mainly because Orion feels that Starscream's been fully honest with him.

He reverted back to Orion Pax in memory not in form. He's still technically Optimus Prime, he just doesn't know that. If you look at the flash backs of when he was Orion Pax he had a different body then. When he became Optimus Prime he got the body he has now. Of course this really don't make sense because he shouldn't have his current body till getting to Earth but this series so far has failed at every flash back to give any of the Earth bots a Cybertronian form. Anyway Optimus was the only character to have a different form in a flash back to show what Orion Pax looked like.

Given that his form hasn't changed he never actually lost his Prime status. He's not Orion Pax, he only THINKS he's Orion Pax because he lost all his memories from being a Optimus Prime.

Vector Sigma can't upgrade him back into Optimus Prime because their's nothing to upgrade. He already is Optimus Prime. The only thing that was lost was the memories not the actual physical form. If he lost his Prime status as well as his memories then he would of reverted back to this form.



You could just say that's a Cybertronian form and he never changed physically but as I pointed out earlier none of the other characters have been shown with Cybertronian forms when they appeared in flash backs. Why only redesign Optimus? Because they showed this flash back as Orion Pax. If he doesn't look like that he's Optimus Prime.

BTW does anyone else think it's weird that Prime Orion Pax looks more like Optimus Prime than G1 Orion Pax?

 

I loved the new episode! It was really intense! I dont agree with those users saying that Orion will join Starscream, he doesnt have real reason. :S He already found out he IS Optimus Prime, leader of the Autobots. Of course, he thinks Autobots are the bad guys. Hm...Well, that IS a good reason to join old Screamer but according to Megatron's lie: Starscream IS an evil Autobot as well. :S
Besides, that episode 6 summary pretty much kills any posibility of Prime remaining as Orion Pax.  

 

Just cause, like me and my bro both said its not gonna happen, but it'd be an interesting take. But I don't seriously think it could happen

 

All in all I kind of hope that this doesn't end in orion pax part 3 with optimus not being a decepticon. When they did it, it was ground breaking. I grew up in the 80's watching transformers and for the 1st time for optimus to willingly be a decepticon was the biggest shocker of all. They should continue to roll with it.

(Even tho Prime is Orion again) I still think this needs to last longer then 3 episodes and find more autobots that can fill the whole left by Prime's absense. Hell even I was curious to see if Orion could live up to the name of being a decepticon by being a sneaky, decieving slag of a con. But nope, guess that isn't going to happen, boooo.

But think of it like this also, the longer Prime stays as Orion, the longer he gets to unlock all of project Iacon. My guess is that Orion will store that information within himself and delete it all from the decepticon database, so if and when he returns to being Optimus he will know every, if not a vast majority of locations that could tip the balance of the war in the autobots favour.

 

Well, yeah  !!! The G1 version had a bit of a strange look but he was completly rebuild by the young Alpha Trion.

 

Personally, I think 3 episodes is about as long as they can do it. Casual viewers know Prime is an Autobot, and if they tune in to a couple episodes, and see him as a Decepticon, it would confuse them, and that could cause them to stop viewing, which means lower ratings. Besides, look at it like the TNG episode "The Best of Both Worlds". Deep down, we knew Picard wouldn't remain a Borg. The story has to go back to the status quo.

 

We'd probably never see Orion fully go Decepticon. At heart, he is an Autobot and would require a personality change like Beast Wars.

Orion Pax stealing all the data is what I expected also. It'll probably be a mix of Autobots, Decepticons and weapons. They'll slowly decrypt it due to lack of processing power and other technology.

He'll have to steal it at the tail end of his stay on Nemesis or while Soundwave is distracted.

 

Getting better.

 

Starscreams cackle after he tells Prime "You really are being kept in the dark!" is one of the most mesmerizing things I've ever heard. That's right up there with the fucking Joker.

 

I'm listening to the Podcast for this episode right now and I wanna talk about a few things I find interesting in the podcast.

The big thing seems to be June. They talk about how she's played as a real parent rather than the cartoon parent that we've seen in other series. Like she's actually concerned about her son. Not just her own son but she's also shown concern for Raf and Miko. Normally parents are just like "Yeah, my kid hangs out with giant robots in the middle of an alien civil war. It's totally safe."

Oh yeah, and just for me, Cybertron despite being a dead planet looks far more detailed than anything we've seen on Earth so far. Cybertron is full of broken cities that actually fill the background unlike the scenes we've seen on Earth where the world looks nearly empty. I was kinda expecting Cybertron to look a bit more generic like the Earth does except with Cybertron I could accept it looking generic because it's a dead planet. Earth should look more populated but doesn't and that bugs the hell out of me. Of course for season 2 Earth is looking better too, I'm comparing to what we saw in the first season where a lot of the episodes are just open desert and even scenes that should be populated aren't.

 

really REALLY liking parts 1 and 2 so far. good to see ol Starscream back in action! and it's very interesting to see how this Orion Pax thing is playing out, especially during those few glimpses back to Optimus. (personally, i saw that when he was trying to decode the thing, and got all angry and narrowed his eyes and stuff. i kinda saw his determination as like that 'glimpse' of his former self.) Arcee's emotions on Cybertron were done well also.

edit: almost forgot! best part: Star Wars reference!!!! "everything's fine, uh ... how are you?" i laughed/smiled so hard when i saw that.

 

Part 3 premiers tomorrow! Can't wait!
