Rodimus needs the votes from everyone who hasn't voted yet. It's not as if those votes will make him beat out any specific character in the poll, he just needs them to be in the 5 picks from this site. That at least gives him a chance at the HoF. And after what he accomplished, that is what he deserves, a chance.

That chance isn't just for recognition, but that he should no longer be under an undeserved and irrational stigma. That's the stigma he received in his first appearance. The one wherein some fans believe he was the reason Optimus Prime was killed by Megatron.

Those fans believe Rodimus was the cause when he jumped on and struggled with Megatron, to prevent the latter's virtually transparent ploy to stall Optimus while retrieving a discarded gun.

Yes, the smarter move on Rodimus' part would have been to yell "Megatron's going for a gun! Shoot!", but Rodimus' impulsiveness steered him toward a bad choice. That choice isn't what let Megatron shoot Optimus enough to cause the latter's demise.

Why? Because the one with the readied gun was Optimus Prime. This is the same Optimus Prime who made the shots seen at 5:10 into this clip:

Yeah, he blasts up into the air, and while doing an inverted pirouette he fires 3 shots at 3 'cons, hitting each one.

Seeing what that Optimus Prime was capable of and was doing right up until Megatron shoots him multiple times, Optimus could have easily shot Megatron first, disentangling him from Rodimus and setting him to be finally taken down.

So, is Rodimus the reason Megatron was able to shoot Optimus Prime enough to kill him? No, Optimus Prime alone is the reason for that.

Now, show others (even Rodimus himself) that Rodimus has been undeservedly stigmatized. Show them by choosing the Chosen One. Vote for Rodimus!

Rodimus is a waste of a vote. Why? Because like Shockwave and Grimlock before him, he will get auto-inducted into the HOF at some point, possibly even next year.

There's been a pattern to the HOF auto-inductees after the first year. They were either the Autobots from the first live-action movie or one of the finalists for the fan vote for the Hall of Fame in the previous year.

Rodimus wasn't in the first live-action movie, so the only way he gets in is getting voted in. That doesn't mean making him the fan choice of the year, but he has to at least make it into the final five.

So, voting for him after he's made into Hasbro's final five may be a waste of a vote (depends upon how much you like the character), but not here. Voting for Rodimus here makes a difference.

So, people, Vote for Rodimus!

 

Characters that played a major role in G1 will almost certainly get auto-inducted at some point, and that includes Rodimus.

Hasbro only remembers/cares about G1, The Movies and Prime. So, in my opinion, the HOF should be about us, the fans, reminding them about all the franchises/continuities that they have forgotten about, and showing them that we care about characters from those forgotten shows.

 

Based on the only information we have to this point, that being the pattern of which TFs have been inducted thus far, that isn't necessarily true. It still takes the fans showing that they want a character in enough that they push them forward in the standings within the fan community with votes.

Your opinion has great merit. It's actually been proven with the previous two years' final choice for the HOF.

When Hasbro's vote comes up, the character (or one of the characters) who isn't from G1, the Movies or Prime will be the one that I vote for.

However, for the purposes that I have stated before, I voted for Rodimus in this vote. I'll continue to encourage others to vote as I did (Vote for Rodimus!   ), but regardless of which character they choose to vote for on this forum and/or encourage others to vote for, I will not tell them that voting for a certain character is a wasted vote. I do not agree with that opinion.

Plus, it's not like rigging these sort of things is that hard by way of popular influence, as seen by the fact that her & Swindle are there to begin with. For example, we had a contest on my yugioh forum about the greatest show of our generation, and you know what won? Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. Granted, it's still a community of nerds just like this place, but it wouldn't have even made it past the 1st round if myself and a couple of people hadn't coaxed people, and that's actually what made the context fun... just like how characters like Swindle are making this shit fun too.

 

No. The people voting for Minerva are doing so because they actually LIKE the character and the show that she hails from, not because a high profile moderator is rooting for her.

 

All the more reason to Vote #1 BW Megatron; A vote for BW Megatron is a vote for TF era equality!
