I´m sold on Banzaitron. I hope they make new swords, like they did with Blood. About Skullgrin, i`ll wait until we learn more about this set.

 

Banzaitron's new head looks too much like the blood replacement head and that nose kills it.

 

Hmm. Well, I don't care too much about Banzaitron and I definitely don't care about him as a repaint, so I don't own Voyager Banzaitron. If the head looks cool, I might buy it for a custom, but right now it's a pass.

I didn't think Skullgrin needed a new head, I really like the one he came with- in fact that's the only part of the generations mold that survived when I made my skullgrin custom.. but the new one looks even cooler. Obviously there must be some gimmick with the head for alt-mode.

What interests me most is the boxart for banzaitron, for a couple of reasons. Traditionally we don't see boxart until something's ready to go. That suggests that this is just a straight up repaint of the Voyager Blood head.

Also because it refers to Ronin as their eighth release.

Makes six. If they count Gyro, that would be seven. That means Ronin is either next or the one after, meaning it leapfrogged Blood DX, Drone or both.

Unless they count the retools of hothead to be the same release, then I dunno what's up.

 

This Banzaitron actually looks better than Blood for Bludgeon. Needless to say, I'm excited to have my Bludgeon and Banzaitron leading my Bludgeon DC army!  

 

Should i feel bad that after seeing that beatiful boxart, i decided to grab a Banzaitron from BBTS??? I mean, i liked Bludgeon, but wasnt sure about the repaint...

Oh well, it wasnt that expensive in the end i guess

By the way, seems to be the same pieces from the Blood release, but with a remolded helmet crest and the IDW skull face with remolded "wires"

i wonder if its coming with the swords and that gun? And i seriously hope is mass released and not limited  

 

Hopefully that Skullgrin head fits in the transformation cavity proprly, and turns out well in general. Like a few others have said, I've kinda come to terms with the hybrid pretender core and shell look on its own terms - varied as HasTak's results are there. Compared to the Bludgeon/Banzai-Tron design which was meant to play off those two guises, Skullgrin was achieved with a retooled head by and large anyway so if potential customers deem the replacement, there's the market!

As I scrolled down the Banzai-Tron art I thought something like 'Neat; not skeletal and it will probably grow on me'. Then I saw the gun and thought how close to the mark that would be for suiting the BotCon 2012 Overlord - if - especially in his case, the gun could incorporate into the tank altmode. Specifically in Overlord's case, the purple rubber sword could just be retired to the packaging/bits box lol. While this is just a throwaway notion, hopefully the expanded weapons loadout will integrate with BT's altmode too for starters.

 

Dig The Skullgrin upgrade gonnna stick with Botcon Bazi.

 

I do like the colors on the HFTD banzaitron, but I think the botcon one is a better representation.

 

Sweet. I got Banzaitron for $8 so the upgrade will probably bring the total to the original price for me.

Huh, I just noticed that they also said he has blue chrome blades on twitter. That makes him even cooler, I must have it.

Its funny too, I just came to accept his stock head now that Bludgeon was upgraded, but this is way better anyway.

 

You forgot to mentioning Butcher, for Universe Onslaught. He was the 6th release.

 

With the new blue chrome blade this becomes a no brainer.

the release number on Ronin is just a mock-up. The card is done digitally but hasn't been printed yet. Next release is still Drone or Blood DX

 

I really hope that Big Road is a priority finish for this company. I want it more than anything.

 

Big Road is a big step up for Headrobots, so just in principle that's got me interested, but with a profile pic like mine you know I've gotta agree with you there TJ; even if a Classics Trailbreaker were on the horizon, I might spring for both.

 

I wonder where the gun stores.

Does it plug into the hole that his sheath comes out of or is it a replacement for his turrent?
