I have been a collector for close to 7 years now and just the other day, I considered myself very lucky. At a stall at my local market I managed to pick up #3 of The Official How to draw a Transformer and 2 VHS' of the old G1 series. I also found once, a VHS of the old Go-bots (Volume 1) still in it's plastic.

I was wondering if there was anyone out there who'd know what these items would be worth out in the world.

    Thanks
    Tazahawk

Not sure if really valuable. You can get most TF VHS for pretty cheap because the only people that would want it would be collectors and people with VCRs. Even so, the demand really isn't there. Maybe if it is sealed, but sealed VHS isn't like sealed video games.

Some of the older Transformers VHS art is beautiful stuff. It's a shame it's getting lost in the here-and-now while we get DVD releases with Dreamwave/IDW-styled artwork.

which is also nice. i'm just saiyan...

VHS are only really worth anything to a collector, and still not probably that much. I often see TF VHS on car boot sales here for as little as 10p each. A problem I've found when selling any VHS on my stall is that so many people don't have VHS players anymore.
The 'How to Draw' issue will be worth a bit more but even then probably not a significant amount.
But then all you need is the right person to come along that really wants one of your items and you'll probably do okay, if not amazingly so.

I believe I only watch Gobots once. I think it was the movie. My sister even watched it and she loved the character Nugget.

Is there a Gobot Nugget toy?

Thanks guys. It's a bummer that they wouldn't be worth much, but perhaps they will be one day.

Just keep them for yourself. Their personal 'cool' value will likely not diminish.

Quite a few, there were three releases done. Original in the cylinder, which I believe was done exclusively for TFcon. Second version in the cardboard sleeve was a more general release, then there was a bagged one that came after that.

    Great set though.

Hey everyone. I just picked up another possible rare item yesterday. It's a metal tray with Metroplex, Trypticon (just), Rodimus, Ultra Manus, Predacon, Combaticons and so on. Anyone have any thoughts?

Are you talking about the dinner tray? If so, those tend to go around $15 or so. The reason I know is because I bought the same tray last summer. I have one with the 1984 artwork as well (but it was from my childhood).

There just isn't a lot of interest in them. They're still really cool, though :)
