This was the first time I had ever used this card with FP. Like I said, it literally happened the day after I renewed. This is no coincidence.

If people would rage over FunPub as much as over other small, petty things, things would be different. Problem is that people can't see beyond the BotCon and club toys, which seems to be more important than FunPub running things in a good way.

Also, there's a rumour amongst several other convention organizers that Erector actually won the HoF vote, but that either Hasbro or FunPub pulled the plug.

like I said in a previous post... I gave the name of the tfcc site and what has been going lately to the credit card company and they said thanks for the info, we'll make a case of it.. this is useful info... I wonder how many other people gave this into their credit card companies....

If this is still a big issue (which it appears to be), wouldn't it make sense for a mod/admin. to put it on the front page again? It might actually save some people from fraudulent charges (at least it would get everyone who thought they were safe after the 'change' to check their statements again).

This is exactly what I am gonna do!!

I emailed the person handling my account and gave her a link to the TF Club page where they made the announcement about the situation. Haven't heard much at all since.

That's a really good idea. This needs to be reposted to the front page. So people can recheck the cards and accounts to be safe. And to be aware that this issue has obviously not been resolved.

Given Aaron Archer's speech at the HOF event last year, I wouldn't place the blame for that on FunPub ... IF Erector actually won. :)

That they at Hasbro had fun with Erector's nomination, but that they want to take the HOF very seriously.

    Dunno :/

But it serves as a good example of how people can rage over trivial matters but not about huge matters like how FunPub do things. The lure of the "super-extra-special-rare-expensive-toys-with-QC-abundance" is greater than the importance of a good experience, which is pathetic and sad.

And also, that rumour is not something I made up. Heard it from several people completely unrelated to one another.

I grew up in and around the restaurant business, some I'm going to share a little tidbit that's way older than the internet; "Cook the meal of your life, and you earn one fan. Cook one bad meal and you earn a hundred haters."

People are positive about toys, people love to talk about toys, but no one goes out demanding ANSWERS about good toys. People don't pound their fists on the table and say 'WHY THE HELL IS THIS TOY SO GOD DAMN EXCELLENT?!" People want to know where there money is going, especially when its money they didn't specifically spend.

There's something fucking WEIRD going on at FunPub. Do you not see that? I'm about as outsider as outsider gets, especially considering every year when I say 'this is it, this is the year I drop the money for the club and Botcon' I see some behaviour on the part of the Con that tells me these just plain are NOT people I want to support with my money.

    I got hacked too

The only things my wife or I have purchased online this month were Over-run and something she bought from some site called 'zoolilly' for our daughter. I had a pending $1 charge to Google and a declined charge of $300+ to walmart.com. Fortunately the fine folks at Chase caught it and flagged the card and I was able to cancel it before anything else happened.

FINALLY. They closed the store. Way too late. Now take another late step and send out an EMAIL! Yes, it's almost too late but on the off chance that a few people may get it in time to save their cards being used then it should be sent!

BigPete: I agree somewhat. I know there are a fair amount of vocal fans here and on facebook that have messaged them, hasbro, and even the bbb. Unfortunately there are a lot of people who think like you said but I would hope that FUNPUB is paying attention now that they are going to start losing business. I'm sure $$ > every other concern.

Hmmm interesting. I cancelled my card as a precaution but now I'm wondering if the problem is in fact with the new card company. For me, I had paid for Botcon, membership renewal and Over Run all BEFORE the crash. Since all three were successful with the original credit card company, I had never attempted to use any card with the new system.

This is not to say that I might have been hit eventually, but as of 4 days ago (which is when I cancelled it), there was no suspicious activity on my card.

My credit card representative did ask about the website when I mentioned it was an apparent problem among other users at the same website. I specifically stated the "Transformers Collectors Club", but don't know if it was for them to research into it. She may have just been continuing the conversation. I cancelled this card as a precaution, not because it had been hit with fraud.

The one that did get hit was my Paypal debit card. Since the charge was rejected (due to lack of funds), the Paypal Rep said they couldn't make a case of it. I figured that they would at least like to research into who submitted the charge. It was still a fraudulent use of my account.
