The single player game was fine. Online was a complete disaster. Rampant hacking, no glitch fixes, no console dlc maps, no console dlc characters, zeta had to be patched in by a player who put out his own wfc patch. It was just horrendous. That being said, with the single player mode/co-op and the time I spent playing multiplayer before shit got out of hand, I did enjoy the game and I think I got my $40 worth. Also, even though I've bitched constantly about them not doing a PC port of FOC, I don't think I would have purchased another PC title by them unless they had stated that they were going to resolve the problems of their first outing. It would have just been paying 40-60 to have them kick me in the nutsack again. If it's reviewed as another decent TF game, I'll just pick it up on PS3 this time out.
WFC was a very good single player game. And I don't really care about multiplayer. If I need it I better run UT3
I mean WFC ran smooth and all, but it did lack several important PC features and High Moon comes from a console crowd, So I would not expect them to make a PC version. I feel I should apologize for my ranting behavior and constant bitching at High Moon about no PC version for FOC. I sincerly apolgize. However seeing footage of FOC that looks extremley awesome and amazing I shall rent the game from Gamefly and play it at my friends house every day.
so now I have to get a $100+ game system I would hardly ever do anything else with just to play FOC? thumbdown
I dunno if your trolling or not here..... No.....only 7 people worldwide play PC games nowadays. You don't have to do anything. There are plenty of must play games on both consoles (whichever you decide to get......if you do)
No, not really. At first I got a PS3 for WFC's DLC and ROTF's DLC and non-lag. Now I have a bunch of other games, I watch movies on HD with it, I can use Blu-Ray with it, I have a TON of friends, aaaaand... that's pretty much it. But at least it was worth it.
How good is the Blu-Ray stuff when played on a PS3? I'm just wondering because a friend of mine said it was kinda meh.
pc users are going to have the MMO to play around the same time. makes marketing sense especially if High Moon are primarily console games (and have had issues supporting pcs in the past)
It's actually REALLY good. It even picks up where you left off on the movie, unless you tell it not to. And also, I noticed a TON of new stuff in the backround, in fact entirely new scenes, on the DVDs on HD.
I'm pretty disappointed by this, not owning a 360 or a PS3 and all. War for Cybertron was surprisingly good and one of my favorite games I've played recently. I pretty much game exclusively on the PC, I'm not sure why you would bother with doing anything else, mods, upgrades, etc and all. Not to mention superior control capabilities.
PC ports usually require you to get expensive tech, or just end up sucking really bad. It's a wonder why people are upset.
Companies have been a bit hostile to PC recently. I'm mean they are still releasing PC games but they arent good ports. The gaming world has changed to the point where Console Games are now the focal point of game development. Some Companies dont like the PC like Ubisoft (Should I remind of that DRM and saying that 95% of PC would pirate GR:FS and then cancelling the PC version of GR:FS and uncancelling it) and EA Sports now not bringing most of its games on PC (Except for Fifa). Movie tie in games in general have stopped with their PC releases and they aren't that good so why bother? Activision has not been making PC versiond of their licensed properties for the last year or so. I will bring you some examples. *Transformers: Dotm (High Moon was at this so yeah..plus it was a movie game, but decent) *Spider-man: Edge Of Time (Beenox is fully capable of doing this port, having ported ROTF to PC) *The Amazing Spider-Man (Again Beenox at the wheel) *X-Men: Destiny (Any good X men fan like me does not want to talk about it) *NASCAR: 2011 (It didn't sell well I believe) *Nascar: Unleashed (Zero Promotion) *Goldeneye Reloaded (Again my reasons arent just) *Prototype 2 (They delayed it by 3 months and leave out RADNET) So Activision isnt very keen on the PC crowd, except for their original IP's which their isnt many (Singularity and Blur failed). I'm not so sure any PC gamer would go to a store just to buy a movie tie in game or licensed game, it does not happen a lot. When you have a console (Like PS3) or two of the next gen systems (Xbox 360 & PS3), you are basically "Safe" for having a licensed game or sports game annnouced for your system. On PC, it's a 50-50 guess. This post is extremely detailed and may not be what you belive in gaming today.
Thats a load of bs! war for cybertron ran fine on pc. I ran it on my laptop for christ sakes. 6gb ram,Core I5,1gb ram gpu, max settings looked awesome I dont know what these people are talking about the pc version wasnt buggy at all.
I had to actually crack my OWN bought version of Heroes VI, because the whole online protection thing ("Conflux" ) is so horrible, it keeps disconnecting me in the middle of battles, and slows down loading time as well - not to mention that it stores your saved game on the web, and what happens when I have no connection? The system is stupid, and it actually punishes the people who paid good money for the actual game, not the ones who pirate it...
Eh, I could buy 2 HoS Shockwaves from that money... Who knows, 5 years from now, we will have a working Xbox emulator. I can wait... I waited long enough to play pretty much every NES, SNES, Gameboy, Super Gameboy, Sega Genesis, N64 or DS game I ever wanted to try, in the comfort (save game whenever you want) of my PC.
So glad I have a PS3. The game plays way better than PC, on PC WFC was always a bit laggy, had no DLC ever, it ALWAYS had connection problems, and ROTF, god, I couldn't look forward without lagging so bad that it would take 2 minutes to walk 50 feet, and it has no DLC as well. On PS3, all that is ENTIRELY gone. EDIT: If anyone wants to buy a game system just for FOC, I recommend PS3, because Xbox requires you to pay to get online.
