I cannot wait for the RiD line to show up in my area. Have not had much luck yet. I have been playing with my ROTF and HFTD scouts lately and those are all great toys. Thank you hasbro!

    Hasbro gave me G1.

Classics gave me Inferno and Alert.

Takara gave me MP's and Binaltech.

    It's been a good 30 years.

Still bummed about the no show of skyquake, but other than that I'm content. (Especially about knockout)

OP, I'm interested in your ideas and would like to subscribe to your newsletter.

On the whole, I'd say there's a lot of good stuff out now or coming out soon. It's a good time to be a TF fan. :)

I think all this over-reaction is coming from only a couple of bad toys revealed, mainly RID Bulkhead (who is my worst offender), RID Leaders, and FOC Optimus.

Everything else looks really damn cool. How can Hasbro fail so hard at some things, and win so damn hard at others?

@Satomiblood: I don't have a hollowed out TV, but I do have a microwave, which looks a little bit like a hollowed out TV.

Unless you're willing to send me a TV and instructions on how to hollow it out into a cooking implement, it's the best I can do.

But seriously, despite its issues, I'm pretty excited for FOC Bruticus. I'm definitely going to modify it, but it has loads of potential.

Until we see more pictures of it, after having been in fan hands, I reserve judgement. Hasbro's photography division tends to suck at Transformers.

The guy who takes the photos, the photoshopping team, and the dudes who pose them at conventions all seem to be related.

when i see my 7 and 4 year old daughters playing with pink DOTM arcee and FE arcee - im quite fine with the job Hasbro is doing- i think people bitching that a toy isnt too scale or the transformation is too simple or whatever they are clearly missing the point.

    KIDS TOYS

Hasbro is one of the biggest, most successful toy companies in the world. Their products are for children, not grumpy old men. They do plenty of small run projects to appease the adult fanbase, but that doesnt mean EVERY figure out there has to appease the adult fanbase. We are a minority, not their target market.

Furthermore, they have let third party products prosper and develop respectfully (im not a lawyer, but im pretty sure at some point they could have sued the hell out of someone using world-class corporate lawyer crackdown, driven FP or whatever company into the hole just by forcing them to retain a team of lawyers, and set an ominous precedent to all would be third party companies out there--- but they havent).

we can say all we want about ugly powerizer bulkhead, but i bet you that when hasbro looks at the numbers over the last ten years, stupid gimmicks sell more kids toys than show acurate, perfect scale, intuitive awesome transforming toys... When the stars line up, and we, the adult audience, happen to get a toy that IS awesome is respect to the the things i just mentioned- well great. lucky us.. take it for what it is and be thankful. but dont act like a child (the irony!) when it doesnt happen. (obviously there is a lot of grey in between RAGE!!! and just being thankful we still get to enjoy the toys that made up a big part of so many of our childhoods.

on that note- ive gotten back into transformers cause i want my kids to play with them- the engineering is great compared to, say, a Monster High doll, and there is a lot more replay value than a lot of the crap out there. The mythology between OP and Megs is important to me as well. OP does what is right, no matter the personal sacrifice. A fundamental message that is really vacant in a world where most kids shows 5+ model aweful adolescent type bullying and social ostracization, and the adults that are supposed to model good behaviour and set an example (politicians for one) are all too often discovered to be horribly corrupt. I was trying to help my 7year old deal with some bullying, exclusive behaviour from one of her friends a couple days ago and i said "
the toys reinforce the show, and i try to use them both to guide my kids through a good childhood. for what its worth - my kids are homeschooled, just a couple days ago i picked up some Kre-o sets for cheap, and one of my eldest's daily, homeschooling activities is to build one Kre_O set a day for the next year. She's working on Prowl right now. Once she has them all built into altmode- she gets to take them apart and try her hand at the robot modes. The four sets i have now should keep her busy for a while at least, long enough for me to (hopefullly) track down a bog box of oldschool space lego that i had as a kid (think it was gifted to some cousins or something that may have grown out of it by now)

I pretty much dig everything they've been doing lately, some of my favorite figures have been released in the past couple years. Upcoming stuff has me very interested as well. Should be another fun year for TF fans, kids and collectors alike.
