Optimus, Megatron, Sentinel and Shockwave have almost the same height, could it be something with they height that they're skilled figters?. Bumblebee is also a skilled fighter, but he can't win a fight againts one of them i just mentioned, that's logical he's too small, but does it really matter?. Grindor was big, but it seems that he was too slow in catching Optimus counter attacks, so it's not so good to be in that height huh. The Fallen is much bigger, still it looks to me that Megatron is stronger. Regardless a cybertronian is smaller or bigger doesn't really matter, or it's if you are near Optimus height, you're superior then others.
Let me know what you think.

Size doesn't matter. Shockwave had one hell of a huge worm, but was still pretty darned impotent.

Of course your size matters. The smaller you are, you're more agile, but you do less damage to larger bots. The bigger you are, the more powerful you can be, but it also means you compromise agility. Right in between, (which is where Optimus is), then you're this perfect amalgam that can put one hell of a whammy.

Of course, this only really applies to hand-to-hand combat. If you put a gun in their greasy palms, then all bets are off.

Good examples of "Size doesn't help" are definitely Grindor and Devastator. Grindor was to slow to stop Prime, Devastator was to big, and thus was an easy target.

Not really. I mean, yes, to an extent, but no more than size matters in real life. There's also skill, speed, agility, firepower, intelligence and even luck to factor in to these situations.

Scorponok was this close to taking down Jetfire, and Jetfire was seven times Scorponok's size. Dinobot gave Megatron a good beating and was probably 4/5ths of his size. Optimus took out the driller and was barely the size of the driller's head. Devastator was twenty times the size of Mudflap yet somehow Mudflap survived his blender of a mouth.

:lol  Dang, beat me to it!

Nah, look at that little shitbag bumblebee - he's one of the shorter TFs and somehow he manages to be one of the bigger bullies on the playground.

It's all about balance. If you're too big, you cannot maneuver very well. If you're a moron, you'll won't last too long. If you're too small and speedy, you won't survive one blast. Balance is key to everything so in some cases, being big is not the best option. Devastator and the drill are prime examples of "The bigger they are the harder they fall".

And it helps to actually know how to fight so you don't look like an idiot and get your face ripped off.

Humans can kill a lot of Transformers so size really doesn't matter. Weaponry is where the real power often lies.

If a hamster came after me with a machine gun I'd not be thinking 'He's small. I can take him'.

Although I might possibly be thinking 'Where the fuck did that hamster get a machine gun and why's he got beef with me?'.

Even armour isn't the answer if there's a weapon around that can penetrate it.

You wouldn't wonder how a hamster could hold a machine gun? :)

It could be a tiny machine gun designed just for hamsters. I'd still be wary having mini machine gun ammo fired at me though. And if he thinks that won't do the job he might come back at me later with mini nuclear weapons.

Well if Devastator was heavy to the point where he had to walk on all fours, then yes it does.

Another good example of smaller dudes kicking ass: Wheelie and Brains, two small Autobots who managed to take down a Decepticon Mothership on their own, turning the tide of the battle and inadvertedly freeing the 'Bots.

    Mudflap vs Devastator
    Simmons vs Devastator
    Wheelie and Brains vs Mothership
    Optimus and Ironhide vs Demolishor

These are cases of too big vs something small. They might of actually had a chance of survival if their targets weren't so small and hard to notice.

Well, you're saying size equals victory, regardless of being "too big vs too small", the point is that size does not equal victory, otherwise Devastator would be the Main Villain of the trilogy.

I could name less extreme examples as well, such as Ratchet, Jazz and Ironhide VS Brawl, Brawl is larger than all three [SPECIALLY Jazz, who can barely reach Brawl's waist], yet they all layed the smack down upon him [two remarkable moments being Jazz jumping on Brawl's head and kicking his guns away and Ratchet sawing his arm off mid-air].

Same goes for Grindor in ROTF, some two-heads taller than Optimus and was little more than Cannon Fodder for him ["Piece of tin.."]

On Optimus VS Demolishor, they weren't that far apart size-wise, Demolishor could still see them well and hit them if he wanted [hell, he broke a bridge on Optimus' head].

So yeah, size is an advantage, but not a battle-winner.
