Why the hell are Blood, Lander, and Phoenix using their Japanese names? You had the others use their English names, so why were these left alone? If you're going to start converting names, convert them all so you have consistency. Also, why no transformation noise from robot to vehicle and vice-versa? Theme song? Where are you? Really didn't like the music choices for this either.
Because does the names Bomb-Burst, Landmine, and Cloudburst fit the characters? I think not, why does it have to be one way or the other, I see no reason why I can't keep some the same and some not. You apparently were not listening or skipped though the episodes. I used WFC transformation sounds to fit each alittle transformation movement. I'm sorry if you were hoping for the G1 Transformation sounds. Its the in the first video? And I'm sorry, but I rather use this movie music then the horrible music from Masterforce, it is worse then the American G1 music, its boring and doesn't fit ANY of the moods. Beast Wars II/Neo and Martix Reloaded music is a good pick of music, I suppose we all have different taste in music.
Like I said, consistency is a good reason. And honestly, the American names sound a lot better and more Transformer-y. I honestly couldn't hear the transformations. And yes, I was looking for the G1 sound. I guess that's just what I expect to happen in a G1 series. Like with the noise, I guess I was hoping for a more G1, more traditional feel with the music. As for your "theme", I almost wanted to stop watching then and there. I hated it. To me, it doesn't fit Masterforce. As the series is as of now, I sure as hell won't be watching.
Meh, How i see it... Both sides had names that were better then each other. And if I did the American names then Ginrai WOULD have to be Optimus Prime which If I recall you didn't like very much. And I'm sorry that you don't like it but thats fine, Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and I respect that. I'm trying to make it feel less like a TV show and give it more of a modern feeling but I knew some people maybe not like it for that reason alone. I could of went with the G1 feeling, but I just could not bring myself to do a G1 style series. I'm truly getting sick of this G1 obsession.... Don't get me wrong, I do love G1 no matter what but this is not the 80s and therefore I refuse to keep going by the 80s. And I could of for sure went I did a completely G1 styled but then it would of took the fun out of this project, I want to have fun with what I make and not have to replicate Masterforce. I use to think, G1 styling everything is great which is why I did a number of G1 styled videos but after a while.... It just started to get annoying. And in all fairness, I don't even consider any of the Japanese 80s TF cartoons as "G1'. I have no idea what was so bad about the intro expect for the beginning with the names, which I do admit I'm going to speed up or cut out because that lasted way too long. But expect for the beginning of the intro, the theme song was done dam well and I don't see how anyone could dislike it. I'm sorry I can't give you your nostalgic feeling of G1 but I'm sure others may like this more modern take on Masterforce. Oh and I asked about 15 people and they all said they heard the Transformation sounds.... =P
Yeah, except for the little fact that Optimus is dead. That right there allows Ginrai to exist. To me, this sounds like you have little respect for the source material, and like you're trying to change to much and remove the original feel of the show.
Well you make no sense, You said either one way or another. Ya, but that doesn't go with what your saying, In america.... He was called POWERMASTER OPTIMUS PRIME even though in Japan he is Ginrai. Thats why I feel the right to pick between both the american and Japanese names. And fyi, just to clear this up, I decided to keep Ginrai as Ginrai because he is not Optimus and never will be. (Which I do agree with you on, I shouldn't change something that so much people care for.) I have respect for the story telling, ALOT of respect. I love everything about the characters personalities even Ginrai. (Because as its been said, I'm not a very big fan of him but that doesn't mean I will mess up his character.... I'm not Michael Bay, I know my Transformers.) I don't have respect for the choices in the music and sound effects basically how they pulled it off because as I repeatedly said, they don't fit any of the moments of the show. If your going to have incredible animation, would you want good music and sound effects along for the ride? I spent a lot of time on this, and not a lot of people would sit there editing for 10 hours one day and another 10 hours another day and a few more days after that. This also includes directing the VAs on skype, encoding the episodes to make them look good in HD, scripting, and a bunch of other stuff. If you don't like it the way I did it then please, make your own version, do everything I did above but in your own way instead of pointing out that this version is not what YOU want. But you know what, I'm proud of this even though its not perfect, I think I did it right and a bunch of others think that as well. (And alot of them are hardcore Masterforce fans as well) I have a lot of of respect for the story telling and characterization in Masterforce and I believe that is the MOST important part of a TV show, movie, book, so on.
You and I obviously have massively different opinions on what is "good" if you thought spamming that shitty laser sound ever time Tentakil fired his gun was a brilliant idea. Seriously, someone needs to take that shit out of your library.
The Tentakil's laser sound WAS A G1 sound, Mister G1-er. And I do agree that I didn't pick the right laser sound for that, but I'm going to revisit this episode in the future either way and fix that problem along with the minor problems as well. Also your basically saying, that not all the laser sounds should sound the same? Then I guess lets change Optimus Prime Rifle sound and Megatron Fusion cannon sound to something.... OH LETS CHANGE THE AUTOBOT LASER SOUNDS TO DECEPTICONS!!! All you keep doing is pointing out small minor errors and ignoring what I said. Indeed we have a massive disagreement because you think everything needs to be your way or no way it seems. We both see differently, so instead of this stupid argument we are having, how about we stop because I have pointed out everything I needed to say and if you can't accept that, then all well. How am I a Geewunner? All, I've been saying is that if you're going to do a G1 series, you should have a bit of a G1 feel. What I'm saying about the laser sound is I think it's shit and hearing in succession multiple times is aggravating to me. That it it blew me away, considering I had the volume up to hear the characters. Here's a way to improve, try to get all audio to the same level. I don't believe everything needs to be my way, I guess I was just hoping this would be more a translation and less a modernization so I wouldn't have to read subtitles. I guess it's time to put my reading glasses on. I feel I raised a few valid points. The name consistency being one. I don't care if you use the Japanese names or the English ones, but being consistent won't hurt you. In fact, it'll make things seem more together and less like the translator couldn't be bothered to do his job. The music isn't what I would've preferred, but I can deal with it, so long as I skip the intro. (You wouldn't in any way be able to get this guy to do the score, would you?View the profile of Sky Lynx) The TF noise, I do wish the G1 had been used because I hate the WFC one. It sounds more like a metal howl than the noise to me. But, hey, like I can hear it anyway. The reason I pointed out things was to give suggestions and maybe influence you to make certain aspects (names and audio) seem for polished and finished. Things to help it seem more professional and a lot less obviously a fan dub.
Crystal Convoy quit being a bastardo, Max Linden has his take on Masterforce and it's appealing, you sound a lot like Matt Moylan complaining about Animated not being G1. If Max didn't do it differently then it wouldn't be a fan-dub, it would be a carbon copy of masterforce
